Thanks for clarifying things Pete. I had my wires crossed because there was a Mongol Saber for sale recently and the guy called it the Eastern Barbarian. I got all knotted up in my brain cells and didn't know which was which.

Loved the Mongol Saber.
My all-yime fav was an Italian hand and a half. It was on the back cover of a catlaog like 15 years ago. Had a triple-fullered blade, downturned guard. The copy read something like "This is the sword we would have wanted fighting on the side of the Plantangenets in the 100 year War." It was gorgeous.

I'd also like to see this viking sword back in production.

Being fairly recently bitten by the "sword bug", I had no idea Windlass made these neat swords. I'd seriously like: European sword Towton German Hand and a Half Yataghan Eastern Barbarian ...I'd really like one of those!

I have that viking sword Pogo4321 has listed. Did a new wrap on it, but the original wrap is under the new one. Have never cut with it.

There are several I've kicked myself for not getting;
The XIV arming sword The slayer of kings (I don't care how heavy it is, it is the sword of Archaon!) the sword of the wild wind yatagan
If they brought any of those back I'd be all over them in short order. I've been considering picking up the towton but I haven't really even seen anyone talk about it.

All that I've read about it is that it was one of Windlass Steelcrafts gems. Much like the 15th C. longsword, and the XIV, they hit it right on this one.

The Horsehead Falcata and the old Hoplite Xiphos (the more accurate one which they discontinued for the current "classic" version)....

I would love to see the return of "the Tower of London" rapier and dagger. Last time I saw this was about 1989 and it ran about $1200. Needless to say, Sword YES... price NOT SO MUCH.

"I'd also like to see the Swords of Drizzt make a comeback, perhaps with a better scabbard this time?"
Vince, I agree with you that they should bring them both back! I purchased Icingdeath but not Twinkle and I always regretted it. However, I was not super impressed with Icingdeath as I thought it was a bit too "whippy" and the hilt construction wasnt that solid. Now, if they peened those swords and put a nice edge to them, I would be shelling out the close to $300.00 for Twinkle don'cha doubt.
As far as the scabbard is concerned, I liked it. I think they are pretty tactical. They have a wide mouth and are made of flexible leather. They are among the nicest I have seen as far as scabbards go.

The Landsknecht Battle Sword....the one with the "sunrise" pommel. I've never regretted anything more than losing that one as a result of a divorce! (Okay...so maybe I regret losing my 37' sloop more....)

I am interesting to buy the sword of Ibelin with the schabard, complete - by windlass steelcrafts and for this I wrote them also, but they not longer have aviable. The same thing with the sword of the King or sword of Tiberias. This museum replika, for me ar like a piece frome the humane history, when finaly the cristians understand that they can live togeder in peace wint the muslims. Ps.- How can I buy'it here in Europe(D)? There is a special store where I can get them? I have to have a credit card only? Why? How much money do I have to pay to the companies that they want to help me, of corse only for they comision and that make the price ofthe product much bigger.?! For this only the producer lose a lot of customers.! All the best!.

Windlass and some other manufacturers will really only go so far sometimes. There was a surge of interest for the Dutch Cutlass (just a for instance). They lingered on the shelf in the reproduction of them and probably didn't sell as many, as quickly as the proposed demand was. There seems no rhyme nor reason to what may stay in demand. I don't know if they are still actually making runs of the Heron Mark sword but is still listed for sale. Some of those have turned up rusty and just maybe, they made a gazillion and are still trying to get rid of them Some that own it have liked it. Kind of like the Windlass fantasy raptor thing. The Eye of Balor is another neato that had subjective appeal and those too lningered for more years than any thought would still sell. Windlass looks like a good bit of the Museum Replicas trade has become a rennies paradise with one fantasy/movie/series sword/boot and bodice ensemble. Gawd, how long are the Tudor items going to hang around once everyone is already tired of the Locksley stuff.

Quite frankly I wish that they would steer away from the licensed junk...or worse yet the 'horrifying' fantasy pieces that have come out of late. I've also wondered why Museum has held off coming back with some type of La Tene Celtic longsword, another full tang Falcata, amongst others. The Horsehead Falcata that I owned some years back was a little rough in rendering but it was tough as nails (actually could cut thru 6 penny nails with no edge damage!). While somewhat heavy for the type is was the closest production kopis/falcata made so far. Also, i have NEVER understood why Windlass can't make a seax knife that actually looks like a seax knife...anyhow, rant off.

I would deftinitely say the Towton should make a comeback. They used to also have a "Swiss Longsword" a long time ago that was really nice - kind of an Oakshotte Type XVII type thing if I recall correctly.
*edit* It was actually called the "Swiss Warsword". Long, slender blade with a nice fishtail pommel.

I will also vote for the Rheinfelden. I have handled the prototype, and have always wanted one. Their new versions of the same type just aren't the same at all...
