Wow, I'm only 6'1" so that thing would drape on me like a cheap overcoat.
Trimming it back to fit wouldn't be that big of a problem though. Thanks for the input on it.

Nice Windlass Mercenary! I've been wanting one of those for awhile. Where did you pick it up and what are your thoughts on it?

Someone was selling it here on the classifieds so I scooped it up. I like it better than almost all of the Windlass swords. The balance is nice and it isn't whippy at all. The blade is hollow ground and isn't sharpened yet but I will get to that fairly soon and do some test cuts.
the sad thing is that it seems like Windlass discontinues all of their good swords and keeps doing multiple runs of their crappy ones.

I picked up a Barbuta at the fair this weekend. My armor is starting to come together now. I'm currently having a gorget, greaves and sabots made to match the leather arm armor I have. All that I will need after that is the Leather Back and Breast plates. Maybe I'll get those for Christmas.

Damn I never even saw that classifieds thread! I'd have snatched it up instantly.
Yeah it's a shame about how Windlass does their production run. Once you get it sharpened it'd be awesome to see a review/some cutting video.

Yeah, I got that plus a Del Tin 14th Century Cut and Thrust Sword with a custom scabbard for each for $225. As soon as I saw it, I pounced.

I picked most of it up over several years. Plus I know where to go to get things for a good price and I tend to watch the classified fairly closely on several boards.

That sharp leather mountain stuff is pretty good looking, but a little too pointy for my tastes; I prefer the stuff of Elads (particularly their Drow set, though I like the Empyrean greaves and bracers, as well).

Just curious, as your username is 14thforsaken I'm assuming you're a fan of Wheel of Time. What's your thoughts on the VA Custom Sword Shoppe Warder? I expected to see one in your collection somewhere, unless I missed it. (I hope they're good thoughts, because I just ordered one! )

Yup, I am a fan of the WoT. For some reason, the warder just doesn't do it for me. It doesn't match with what I had pictured the sword to be in my mind. I think the one VA is a nice sword, but its just doesn't say WoT to me. I'll probably have Brendan make me one to my specs sometime down the road.

Oddly, enough, I talked to Brenno awhile back about that very thing to get his thoughts on it. He has some pretty good ideas for the sword. As to the VA Warder, I just love the looks, even without associating it with WoT; I can't wait to see the redesign they've been hinting at. I wonder if it'll be more like John's Guardian Warder on his site?

John's Lionguard is more what I pictured Lan's sword to be like.

I could definitely see that, but I'd have to change the point on it. As is, it looks, weird.
