This is my last update for the year.
I put three more horizontal displays up and took down one vertical display; a net gain of 14 display positions.
The ancients now include dedicated racks for 17th and 18th Century Sword types.
I put up a dedicated rack for Austrian Sabers.
Still need a few refinements on the post, but it's about finished.
Enjoy

... so what does one have to do to get put in your will? Got any trees need uprooting? Enemies eliminated? Shrubberies? I have to give you credit, sir... your collection would do any decent museum proud, and that's just the old-timers!

I'm not going to a museum. The cafetria food is lousy and overpriced....
Oh, you mean the "other" oldtimers...
Doors open any time you're in the neighborhood. Not even an admission fee.

I just may take you up on that... alas, I don't know if the little lady would be into it, but baby wouldn't mind the shinies!

Ok, three comments....
1. I just bookmarked this thread under my "Museums" tab in my iPad. 2. How do your floors not collapse under the weight!? (I'm betting concrete slab) 3. Is it a trick of the light or does every blade have a mirror polish to them? And if so what do you use?
A humbled Elrikk.

When I leave this place the landlord will probably rage about my having torqued the heck out of the building. Not a slab, some concrete frame over dirt.
Light trick probably. Some better than others.
Simichrome, Mothers Mag Polish, Renwax or Militec protectants. Super fine steel wool and automotive microfiber cloths. Mineral Oil for leathers.

Hey Dave, can you get some shots on that French 1816 Line officer sword? Never saw one of these in real pics.

And thanks for reminding me that an eagle with the head of a hippopatamus and the arse of a gnat ain't an eagle no more.
Said 1816 is a custom mod; old blade joined to an 1822 heavy hilt.

I can't remember if I have commented on you collection before or not, and I didn't go through to find out, because telling you it is a thing of beauty one more time is only one more small step to doing it any justice.
I like to show your pics off to my wife as a reminder of what my house would look like if I was single. I usually sleep on the couch after that, but the point also gets across, at least to some extent.
With regard to your windlass swords, do you usually have them sharpened by MRL? I was not impressed with their sharpening on the one windlass blade ordered from MRL. I found that KoA seems to do a better job in that department. Sometimes with the deal of the day and knowing I don't want to spend the time to do it myself, it is hard not to click the "sharpen" button, but as someone who has a boatload more than I do, I was wondering if you had an opinion one way or the other...?
Again, well done on the collection, and bug thank you from me (and my wife) for sharing.

Thanks. Sorry you're so far away from me. Doors open. ( Sorry I'm so far away from KoA, I spent 14 happy years in O'Fallon IL.)
Share your observation re MRL sharpening. Most of the time I do order from KoA and let them do the sharpening since they seem to have it done locally for the last few years.
Have done less than a fulsome job updating this page completely for way too long, due to my insane buying and trading. Have one Bonnet and a Brit P1853 kit inbound and will finally do the whole thing up.

First and foremost, I inspired and more than a bit jealous. Amazing collection sir. Secondly, small world, I lived in O'Fallon for several years as a kid, when my dad was stationed at Scott AFB.
