YES! Thank you for the news about 'forward motion', John! It's good to hear anything going on about this project, but progress is especially good to hear.
Keep up that momentum!

Wax, wax, wax it is!!! So Edward, these are the waxes for your sword: Still a little rough, but they're shaping up. Should have them ready for dipping in about a week. I'm seriously planning on getting the bronze cast for ALL the swords by the end of September. Swords will take a little longer than that to finish (ya think?!?), but Rob and I have been thinking that it would be good to have all the bronze done and in hand. So thats whats happening.

Sean - you're right after Edward. Yours is blade number 6, but will be the 5th sword to get completed (I'm finishing the 2nd right now…) Jees, I'm confused… anyway - thanks for hanging in there so enthusiastically my Brother!

Will be worth it in the end... like I said.... this is a dream sword... one of two... and will never be traded. My second dream sword is a really good Duncan Highlander sword... like this one...

Yep the blade numbering was done early on in a big fat marker, so that's the numbering we have kept. Blade #1 is MY one, John's is #7 but we both opted to get ours done last (talk about motivation to see it through and let the lads get there chow first hey)
So what John and I have talked about is getting a status on all the blades and bits etc as they are up to now (and pictures if possible). Hopefully along the lines of Blade: Etching Bronze: Cast and waiting to be finished etc etc.
Also John is wanting to make these 100% perfect but they are the warriors swords because they do have faults or partially unfinished blades from the start, so there will be blemishes and not as well finished geometry as the originals. I think we have been upfront but I am trying to relieve John's artist reflex to fix everything when some of that is beyond him. In saying that we don't want gorgeous bronze fitted onto a bad blade, so if anyone would like to have there blade worked on by an expert bladesmith we could make it available to let you at it for a tune up before the bronze gets put on.
Again if anyone thinks it doesn't look the way you hoped them as they are shaping up I will make sure you get all monies returned. As part of this, after a long discussion, Blade number # 8 is just too far from the mark and we are pulling it. No-one has a deposit down, but Aron I still had your name against it (and 5-6 others willing to jump in) but the re-working of the blade would be unviable.
And aussie-rabbit, I've got your name down against the no-tang blade, but I have talked to John promised that it will be his a part of our deal so he can make something magical with it.
Last part, does any of the future owners have a problem with us using your names as well as number? It would make it easier to tell so we dont have to use just the # 2 blade numbers etc - and I think we all know anyway from the comments!
Many thanks,
Rob

Thanks for the update Rob and no problems here regarding naming the blade.
I'd also like to say hang in there guys these are fabulous swords that will last a lifetime, the amount of work John puts into making each of them is astounding and worth the wait.

First - Thank You again Dave. Since you’re the only one (other than me, of course... hahahahaha) thats actually had his hands on a finished Warrior, your generous words mean a great deal to me. And, dammit, your cutting vid has pretty much worn holes in my computer screen!
And Thank You Rob, for putting it all out there so well. I’m working on putting out the status we discussed for each of the blades and fittings. Should have it to you all very soon.
And, once again, big big Thanks to you all for hanging in with me over this seemingly interminable trek!

Still, though, blade #1 is an indicator that he does a pretty good job with the ones he has. No complaints here.
Bladesmith? I someone were to take this option, who is the bladesmith, and how much would this cost?

Hi Edward,
Yeah all the blades are a little different, slightly longer/shorter or fullers off a little, scratches etc.
So if you want more features or advanced work done on the blade you have, like hollow grinding, changing blade profile, widening out fuller etc and you are not happy with how it is going with John, we can send the blade to any bladesmith you nominate for them to do additional work at your cost. Or you can wait (yep it has been a long time already) and see how it works out with John, and I offer to pay back your money if you are not happy. Does that help answer>?
