Of all the swords I own John, your Conan is always the first one people want to hold keep it up mate.

Thank you Edward! Finished blade.... ahhhh yessss - the picture of just that in my mind keeps drawing me onward. I'm futzing around with my gallery friends about the next casting of the fountain of doom, price/cost issues etc... So maybe I'll get a real break in the interim to put some serious bronze and steel dust on my shop floor.
Thank you A-R! But I'm advised by council that I must disclaim any responsibility for any bloody-ness that may result from, around or in any manner related to these 6.5+ LB beauties...
Thank you Dave! Between that and your awesome cutting video, you're definitely first in line for V.P. of PR for Greybeard-Mega-International-Enterprises, Inc.! Unfortunately, the position is largely ceremonial in nature and doesn't pay very well... ok, not at all... But in all seriousness, I really do value your appreciation of my work. And give the old steel a caress for me, will you? I miss the brute.

Looking good there John. Are the "boogers" normal? In bullet casting the biggest culprit with defects is the mold not being warm enough but not sure if thats plausible with ceramic. :?: Also I salute your determination and the guys patience, almost 3 years to the day that it was first posted.

Well...after some re-negotiations etc, etc, etc, the gallery finally ordered the third fountain... and it now seems that I may possibly be making these fountains well into the future. So... I have decided that I am going to dedicate at least 1 solid day per week to work on the Warriors. I know 1 day a week may not sound like much, but till now its been more of a "whenever I can get around to it..." kind of thing. which has resulted in the ongoing delay we all know and hate.
So a dedicated day per week, plus whatever additional time that I can manage to find, will result in a more steady, reliable rate of progress. Still slower than we all would prefer, but steady and sure...
Since my work schedule on the first Warrior was so erratic, I'm not really sure of how many of these dedicated Warrior work days it will take to finish a sword. But beginning now, I'll be recording hours. With the seeming likelihood that I am becoming "John the fountain maker", I'm going to need to be a lot more organized about my time and energy expenditures. This is going to be a good thing going forward toward getting the Warriors completed and in your hands.
So no photos just yet... but I will try posting a progress report every week from here on out. And as always,, thank you all again for your ongoing support, patience and encouragement!

John,
Good to hear! *Any* progress on the Conan project is worth hearing. Also, no can fault you for getting projects that keep your income going. Hopefully you will have many more fountains, etc. in the future to keep you in the dough.
Looking forward to more status updates!

No pictures yet, but the new plan is really making a difference - real progress being achieved! Guard and pommel are 99% cleaned up and fitted (but not yet affixed) to the blade. I'll be starting the engraving very soon. Pics by Saturday for sure. Stay tuned.

Ah jees, ChrisP, they promised me all the negatives had been destroyed on that one... Hahahahahahaha Good one Bro! Now to business... Well... "no pictures - it didn’t happen", right? So here’s what has happened. Still needed to hit a couple of spots with the welder... non-fills, porosities... no big deal. Then started to clean em up, when POW (ok, more like snap) and the flexible shaft tool jumps, shudders and rotates its last... Sucker twisted itself right off at the junction of the shaft to the motor. #!@&%*#&%!!!! Arrrrggghhh!!! So here’s how she’s looking right now Some more clean-up (as soon as I get the new flex-shaft - I know, I know, who doesn't keep a couple of spare flex-shafts around for emergencies, right? sheesh...) and its on to the blade engraving. Gotta get that done before I start "Banzai Peening" (props, Jeffery) the bronze to the steel. Stay tuned!
