I believe what you're probably seeing on the guard is the antiquing I do on most of my work. I don't usually care for the harsh appearance of a brightly polished surface. The guard and pommel have also been treated with a coat of Ren wax, so you needn't worry about fingerprints right away.

Nice sword. Even if i dont like green ( i like blue, so i guess its not much better ) Nice of you Christian to comment on this. The grip work and pommel are really something, you've got quite a sword there, outside pics are awesome !

Since this blade is based on an LoTR design, I am moving it into our new Fantasy Sword section to get it off to a really nice start!
