Ok! As always, my other designs can be found on the Fable Blades website. Otherwise, It's time to start puttin' the new ones up here! First up is a sword I completed JUST before leaving for basic training. It was so close I did not even get a chance to name it. For now, she is known as my Fantasy Saber. And next up is the newest design - made with likes of Odingard and SlayerofDarkness in mind. For all of those darker fantasy sword lovers... Keep in mind, dark is not my thing. So I don;t tend to do skulls or bones or demons. But I will work with stuff like this. The points and curves remind me of scythes, fangs, and maybe a scorpion stinger. Thoughts always welcome!

I like the look of the saber the best out of the two, but there's definitely something wickedly awesome about Nihtbana. And as far as your designs on Fable Blades, my favorites are Engelcing, Fengel, and Hildebeas, all of which I plan to commission one day. Though, I must admit, Agefon, Freawine, and Steorraniht are all excellent blades and I may commission them, as well, particularly Agefon.

Oooh I like these new ones. The dark slayer looks very cool, esp. the way the grip flows with the pommel

Hey, all, thanks for droppin by and giving a friendly word! I have another new design. This one is designed for a Role Play partner of mine, who's character is a female wolf (Anthro. -cough cough-) and her favorite color was green. That's what she gave me to work with, and this is what she got, lol. I wanted the handle to be sufficient for a two handed grip, but the blade to be wieldable by one or two hands - so I made it more narrow than I normally would on a two hander and made the blade slightly shorter as well. Hope ya'll like it!

Now that's a good looking sword. I don't know why, but there's something about a wasted ricasso that appeals to me.

Me too =D.
I will be quite honest...once I start doing western/fantasy style blades, it's going to be really difficult not to find these designs creeping into my own ideas. They very much suit my taste!

She digs wolves and green... good thing I'm already married, or I'd have to head out there and meet her. I like that sword design quite a bit.

When a friend came to me wanting to write the story we came up with years ago in a two-year long fit of roleplaying, I hesitantly said yes. The story is the origin of my "Kco-" series of swords, including the old "Kcosaga" sword. Originally, Kcosaga was represented by a Jody Samson sword...back when I had no clue how to design blades. Now, after beginning to work with my co-writer, I've got three of the five ancient swords done. I will not bore you all with details of the story yet, but I will put up my designs! First up is the quick two hander - Kcônora. Designed as a light, quick two handed Type XVIII, Kcônora - Blade of the River - is the sword that is used by the main female character of the story. Though Kcôgiya, Blade of the Ocean, is a sword not seen until much later in the whole story, it is an important sword - the Sword of the King. A type XVIa, my goal in this blade was to portray a royal but very functional sword. Finally, we meet Kcôsaga - the sword that started it all for me. Before there was the story, before I had names for the characters....Kcôsaga existed in my mind. Forged in the Northern land of Maôn, this sword represents another attempt at a Fantasy Viking design that I would designate as a type XII blade. The sword is a moderate thruster, but meant to be a devastating cutter in one handed wielding. As always, all opinions welcome. And if anyone wants to correct my on my Oakshott typology...feel free. I'm no expert.

I'm not really a two-hander man, but I'm really digging Kcônora, Aaron. I may have to commission that from Brenno one day so I can see it in steel.

Hey, Vincent. I'm afraid that as for right now, none of these swords will be part of my designs open for commission.
In the next year or so, if the book gets published, then I'll think about it. For now I wanted opinions and to share my designs with the forums as I always love to do. But thank you for the words of encouragement! +1

I can understand that completely, Aaron! I'm much the same with my own novel swords (the first three in my design thread; link's in my sig), so I don't begrudge you that. That aside, I've noticed that you seem to come up with some interesting pommel shapes that still seem functional.
And completely off subject, but what do you use to illustrate your designs? Mine are a little lacking since they're hand drawn and I'm no artist, so I'm always looking for a way to make them look a little better.

I use a free program I downloaded, called Paint.net. It is similar in many respects to Photoshop.
