Friends, Romans, countrymen . . . oh wait, that was another thread. Hey you guys!
What's your "funnest" sword? Not your nicest (necessarily), but your "funnest." The one that just lights up your face when you get set to go out slicing and stabbing on water bottles?
For me, the Windlass Qama. Yeah, I know---it's also about the cheapest sword I own, too. (Or is it just a Ginormous dagger?) For some reason, not only is it about the cuttingest little son-of-a-gun, but it's the one I look forward to, the one that makes me grin.
Yeah, funnest isn't a word, but I deem it so in honor of my senior Drill Instructor from, dang, 18 years ago, when I was humping through the hills at Camp Pendleton, and he came up beside me and said, "Funner'n law school, ain't it?"
So what's your funnest sword?

That would be my Han period jian (only jian I could afford at the moment ), given it's overall length of 39 inch, it weights less than 2.5lb and 6 inch PoB from guard makes it light but sufficiently power for medium targets. Even though it may not withstand very heavy targets, it is fun to swing around. Kinda reminds me of the to the Albion Gallowglass I'm drooling over for quite awhile, but I could not afford that anytime soon. Edit: Hmm... windlass Qama, would make a good project to turn it to Fulham gladius

I love's me my DSA Templar. It's not my prettiest, and it handles like a cinder block, but I love it. You know the scene at the beginning of Fellowship of the Ring, when big scary Sauron is swinging his huge mace and clearing away all the warriors in front of him? Well how this beast makes me feel! When I swing it at a line of pumpkins, I don't even feel the impact, it just sails right through, and somehow the top halves come right off. Of course, it almost spins me right 'round baby, right 'round, but I can handle that. It also sings like an opera virtuoso, for almost 10 seconds after every slice. Love it!

AT 1557v (first half of first video)
MHAT XII (second half 1st video and all of 2nd video) this sword used to be an Atrim 1429 (type XIV) but Shooter mike turned it into a type XII so I eventually decided to call it MHAT (Mike Harris Angus Trim) XII
no doubt these two swords have been my tip top faves, one is light and fast like nothing else but still cuts great and the other is power incarnate yet still fairly quick.

I would have to put my Cheness Ayame top of the list. The most cutting, most fun and always reliable. I have spent hours cutting and thrusting w/ that one. After all the abuse it is now cutting mats for me very well. Honorable mention to the Windlass Italian Hand and Half. Hated that purchase until I started cutting w/ it. Ugly design, handles like a drunk brick, but really, I have had a LOT of fun with it on bottles and pumpkins.

Well my Wraith is extremely fun, especially when it crunches through bone better than a cleaver and my latest valiantco is one of the best handling blades I have ever had in my possession, haven't cut with it yet but it is one of those really pretty blades that you'd s**t yourself if you damaged it.

Man they are all fun. Great Swords of War are fun. And so are little light things. In terms of fun lively flickable handling, yet powerful cutting, I would say my Gorsimi is the ultimate one I've handled. I terms of a big ass grin-inducing powerful sword which handles great too I would say Meschler's Ranger Sword.

Funnest sword? I may be ran through the mud for this, but I'm gonna say my Iberian bastard. Sure it ain't much to look at but I've had this through the hell of my life and it's kept cutting! I can't look at it with a disapproving scold; he knows he's ugly but I've cut with'em for well over a decade and never had a worry. I have the most fun with this one because I know the cut will always be there.

Although my Jin-Shi jian is my favorite, my Hanwei Dadao has to be the most fun. the jian is by far the best aesthetic sword as well as handling, that i own, but the dadao is the beef-eating, total intimidation piece that i own. i love the look on folks face when i unsheath it and their jaw s drop open w/ that OMG look. PRICELESS!!!

I don't like it, I thought it was flimsy and the balance felt strange in the hand, it is not something I would feel comfortable cutting with.

My Funnest sword isn't a sword... but its my Cold Steel Warclub. Something about the thing... eveytime I hold it in my hand I fell like crushing something... and everytime I walk by it, I have to touch it. Its the weirdsest thing.

Can't say I get any of these feelings with anything of mine. I'm wondering if my real niche isn't pole arms. If I can ever get monies I'll pick one up and have a go. Meantime, my swords, daggers, guns, bows, even axes and clubs (bats lol) aren't "doing it" for me. But every time I pick up a long rod...like yesterday at work, I was putting together a curtain rod to show a lady how long it actually was...all I could think of is how many ways I could use this thing as a weapon...

The problem is having too much. The novelty of these things passes away so quickly. Were it possible to start over I'd have only bought my dagger and a pole-hammer and then quit. Less is more, as we don't seem to realize until we've already spoiled that innocent idealism forever.
