I'd say I was a sword addict, but I'm not that bad when compared to most who would consider themselves as such. I spend vastly more money on firearms, ammo, and Harleys than I do on swords in a year. Last year, I only spent about $2400 on swords, whereas I spent in the area of $10000-$12000 on firearms and ammo. I have worked on upgrading my sword collection to what I see as ideal pieces for myself, so I only have about 10-12 swords in my collection at any given point. I am not one of these guys that just buy anything I see on sale or buy what everyone else is buying. I'll typically buy something, try it out, and if I don't like it; I'll sell it off and go on to something else. So, I am not a sword addict yet. Perhaps some day, I will be!

I wish I had your firearms money for swords... heck, I wished I had your swords money! It's even worse if you have to convince your parents that you need a sword... (high, shrieking voice) "What, another one? Gosh, your room must be plated with swords!! Where do you sleep by the way?... 450$ For a piece of metal?? You must be insane!!" and so on...

..........you have a room full of swords but you have to have periodic sales to make room and get money for more......many more.....over and over again....... I love you too Shadow. So this is what you do when I'm gone? No wonder I can never get the swords right, they're never the ones I left behind! And it's strange to see other people loving you BTW. I thought that was my job. . . So, it just dawned on me who Forestfox is.............We are so busted Shadowhowler! In spite of that............I am so glad to meet you here Forestfox! A real pleasure. It is so good of you to let Shadow come out and play with us. I had absolutely nothing to do with that whole "rug" thing and have no opinion either way! ;D

Yes, pleased to meet you Mrs. Howler, I mean Forestfox. BTW, I have been drooling over YOUR fableblade for quite some time now, and as one of the resident Chinese sword guys, feel free to ask me any questions you wish. I just dread the day my wife actually starts posting on this forum and seeing what I've been up to - I think she does already have an account though. Anyway, I finally acquired these for the little one though: I'll be posting a full review in the morning on those. All I can say is "Ouch" apparently I am NOT faster than the four year old. (*modified to fix broken image links, rearranging my photobucket albums*)

Addicted? I'm not addicted! I can quit anytime! Anytime I want to . . .
just as soon as I buy another sword.
. . . or two. ;D

Is that in cheap wallhangers, Albions or full-blown Jake Powning originals? ;D The latter would make for a VERY wealthy man indeed... Neither the first hopefully, or the later... sadly. I could add to the list : When you wife puts you on sword diet : 1 sword a year ! Which, by the way, i already exceeded... but she still doesnt know that... it was a deal, i couldnt resist ! Now... should i store that at a friends house waiting for a good moment like tax return... hmm... Liam, funny thing, i made a sword ( rubber foam over PVC pipe and lots of duct tape ) for my 8yr old daughter on Sunday, i'll be turning her into a sword addict in no time mwuahahah !

When you order the SBG Bastard Sword instead of replacing a stolen SKS for less than half of what the SBG Bastard sword cost

Four year old isn't ready for anything too rigid yet, though I've been debating the PVC/ pipe insulation method for making something for the little one because I could use various hardware components to weight it more like a real sword.

Not really busted, Shadow was kind enough to send me the link to the rug discussion well before I signed up for the account. The rug showed up at the house today BTW, so if you want to see what $5350 of rug looks like, ask Shadow for pics. (hmm, that doesn't sound quite right, does it. . . . )
In any case, swords are a big part of Shadow's life and I fully accept the fact he's an addict. I like the swords too, and I've learned a lot from Shadow. Hopefully Shadow and I can do a husband and wife review on some swords in the future. Thanks for the welcome and nice to meet you.

I have yet to even use it because I've been so not home. Imagine my excitement/dismay when I saw Shadow post his review on my sword (and I haven't even used it yet!). I love seeing Shadow in the backyard having a good time with the swords, but I was a little sad because it's my swords. I can't wait until I come home to use that thing, though. I'm always excited when Shadow says "I got you a sword, honey". I have two that I can call my own. Funny, since we have like, a bajillion swords in the game room. . . ;D Nice to meet you and if I do have any questions, you'll definately get a PM from me.

Well, you doing a great service to our country, and this is coming from a veteran. Anyway, just tell him paws off YOUR sword till you get home He mentioned he doesn't know much about Chinese swordsmanship and I just might have some instructions for a Taiji sword form around here somewhere. And hey, if he gets to play with your toys you should be able to play with a few of his. That did sound like a nice rug though.

Oooooooooooh! Shadow must do a RUG review complete with pictures. Although the price is a "little" out of our purview, I am sure we would all love to see pic's of Shadows smiling face with that new rug draped around him. ;D Husband and wife reviews..........a splendid idea. +1 to you Forestfox just cause.

Yeah, Shadow called and woke me up for work, but I don't have to work today (a rarity these days). I can't wait to come home. I'm just glad I have interwebs to use. Sometimes I don't even get that. You should ask Shadow about my reaction to the news of the rug arriving safely in the States . . On a side note, I'm usually not so impulsive with high price items. However, as soon as the vendor unrolled it, I honestly felt my soul connect with the rug (never had that kind of physical reaction to a rug before). I tried to call and ask for permission/tell the husband I'm going to spend a ridiculous amount of money, but my cell phone said no. So I made an executive decision

Mind your own buissness you! I'll play with my swords, her swords, whatever swords I want! As for playing with my toys... well... Mrs. Howler knows she is WELCOME to play with anything of mine any time she wants! ;D Oooooooooooh! Shadow must do a RUG review complete with pictures. Sorry... if you want a 'Rug Review' of Fox's $5,350 rug... you will have to wait for her to get back and do it herself. I don't know ANYTHING about rugs. Hm... wait... er... your right Foxy, there is no way to talk about that and sound a little... er... you know. I think a Husband & Wife review of her BKS Cutlass is in the future.

He's says he hasn't unwrapped the rug out of the shipping packaging yet. So he hasn't even seen it with his own two eyes. I sent preliminary pics (friend had camera on hand), but he was not impressed. Picture really didn't do it justice.

You should ask Shadow about my reaction to the news of the rug arriving safely in the States . . Heh. Yeah... she basicly says the following, in a purr like voice... "Ooo... the rug is there? I want to touch it... I have not touched it in so long..." and I'm saying "What? SCREW the rug, what about ME?!?" I honestly felt my soul connect with the rug (never had that kind of physical reaction to a rug before). ;D Ok... this one is too easy. Pass.
