Though he did once try to recommend me some Pretty Cure books based on a Cure Black mini plush I had hanging off my badge and the "best one" he handed me I gave back on page three saying "My Nagisa does not have a semprini." What the f%$# are you reading, man!? ...Stuff. Certainly nothing THAT GUY recommends, anymore. Sanmarc, good luck with that flu thing; I hear those suck. |

I maintain a constant level of sinus congestion. That's about it. Sometimes my throat gets scratchy but if I drink a cup of hot tea and/or some Mountain Dew, that fixes it.  |

Yep, I'm better now, Just got to pay rent And I'll be ok, the blade is sitting in the corner right now, havnt even sharpend my Winlass classic yet, I'm a getting to it....SanMarc.

Ok, back on top!! I have gotten a Brass Mushasi tsuba from Slavia631 and some Bamboo Fuchi/kashira/Menuki from Szlaba, the fittings are in the mail, the tsuba is here and fitted to the blade, I am thinking of doing a burnt yelow ito with black dark red Saya, What do you think about that???

Hmm, for just a little more, you could have gotten the carbon steel one, but hope you like it, mine didnt have the animei tsuba iether, but I got a Mushasi one for it...SanMarc.

It says on the website the one I ordered is carbon steel. Granted I don't know what numbers exactly though lol. I still figured its probably better than one I would find at the flea market . Do you have any whole pics of your sword? Edit: did a little more searching and over at Twiggys (http://www.twiggystreasures.com/ruroni-samurai-sword-ss698-2.html) They list it as 1045 CS like most of Musashi's other swords. Granted being a reverse blade I still probably wont cut with it, but its good to know its not 440 stainless |

ok, I couldnt folw your link, and when I hand typed it in I got the ss page, as to the 1045, thats not bad and you can use it backwards to cut, thats what the guy did that I got it from!! he had no idea of the story behind the sword!!
I posted a pic of the sword, but it now has the mushasi brass tsuba and the habaki and thats it for now....SanMarc.

Nice, any idea what brand it is or what steel? Ya im a big kenshin fan, one of the main things that got me into katanas so I couldn't pass this sword up i think im gonna buy the box set on ebay next pay check they have all 1-95 ep box set for like 50-60 dollars shipped. |

Well I just got the sword, it's pretty nice other than it basically falls out the Saya, is there any special way to shim the saya?

I'm pretty shure mine is allso 1045, yeah, I should get that vid set, but bikes and swords got my cash right now, as to the saya, you could put on the "cat scratches" on the habaki, that will give it some grip, just remember that sword is worn Tachi style, revers of a katana....SanMarc.

I went ahead and ordered a roll of "cabinet veneer" in white birch on ebay to shim it with. I've found some people on other forums do it that way so i'll give it a try when it gets here.
