YES!!! I Finley have it in my Hands!! My buddy who Grossly abused this sword, came over today and gave it to me, Man did he put it through some Hell!! Carbon steel blade with different fittings than the Official sword, but nice none the less, After a little straightening and light cleaning of the rust and tree sap on the blade, deburing two nicks, and it has potential to be a nice wall hanger again, and used for practice.
As to Anime swords, this is the one that I wanted as the reason for why Kenshin used it instead of a regular Katana appeals to me. once I properly cleen it up and remount it, I will post some pics.
In the story, the sword smith who forged the blade was named "Shakku" Does any one have a example of what the Kanji would look like for his sig for the tang??? There isn't one on it of course, but I want to put one one just for the heck of it...SanMarc.

What, just his name? If you're a real hardcore fan, try putting his actual death-poem on that thing: ;D

Yeah, likewise. Google isn't helping, might have to (wait for Anders to ) go find the page. Managed to figure out the more commonly accepted spelling of the guys name seems to actually be Shakku, and is his given name; family name Arai. Took this to Wikipedia and it seems the offered kanji there are 新井 赤空. That'd be 新井 for Arai, though I'm not sure how he'd have actually signed his swords, or if this was ever established in the series.

Depends on OS... I have OS X, so it's already there...I can even freely type in moon letters if I like.
Can't remember how I got it on my old Windows machine...
PM'd.

Bingo!! Thanks Random!!! And Remember, Knowledge is free, its what ya do with it that can cost ya, or not.....SanMarc.
And the Arai is first then the Shakku so the Kanji is in the right order for what his sig would look like, but then if I'm wrong, some one chime in and say so, (with example)

Again, I'd love to say that a picture of his actual mei was included somewhere in the series, but the fact that Anders managed to find his poem blows my mind already. That's a lot to sort through and Google has no clue. Glad you got it working.

I don't actually speak or write Japanese much. I just like their comics... >_> Chapter 81, appropriatly titled: "Shakku's Thoughts." I forged silver-sheened swords for years, Thinking I could compete with the best, So that after the storm clouds and rain have passed The sunshine can make up for what is to come(At least, that's the scanlation I have access to. Not sure how it's worded in the official translation.) You really surprised? I mean, look at Random's avatar!

I shouldn't be the one to talk though, my obsession with manga (good manga) has driven me to their motherland more than once. But foreigners don't really stand a chance there...If anybody dreams of becoming a mangaka stay away from Japanese soil people!!

Oh I didnt "Buy: it, it was givein to me, the guy was just beatting the swords to death, the first one I got from him, a standerd Katana, I made into five small knives, it was badly nicked, I like this sword and the Animie for it because of what Kenshin stood for, and a Little of Mushasi, being able to defeat your oponent without killing and doing more damidge to his ego to boot, that my freind, is classic......SanMarc.
