BTW crazyforweapons and swordmonger7 "Tooth and Nail" is pretty intense. The After Dark Films "Horrorfest: Eight Movies to Die For" are all usually fairly decent. The first year was the best, but "Tooth and Nail" was a nice little gem from the second year. Thanks for the info. I doubt I'll be seeing that anytime soon.

The Road looks like another post-apocolyptic sort of movie in which the main character would have been MUCH better off with a good sword and the skill to use it well.
It'll be hard for me to watch this one and not think "Aragorn! Where the Hell's your sword?!" ;D

That's quite a cutter !! Any difference in handling between the falchion in the vid and the still photo? Yeah, I took the heavy plum-shaped pommel off and replaced it with a medium-weight Type I wheel pommel, and it improved the handling a lot. It now handles about like the standard soon-to-be-released Valiant Armoury Falchion will handle. I'm gettin' one o' those! It promises to be a winner. Woah, There's another one coming out? Can i get a link to it If it's not too much trouble?

You could check around the Valiant Armoury website from time to time. I'm sure Sonny will announce it when it is close to release.

I would have prefered the ArchAngel Falchion... which I am in love with... but I still will be buying this one when it comes out.

If anyone is interested in (what little is left) the zombie state of mind, I suggest reading Zombie Haiku by Ryan Mecum. My favorite haiku has to be this one: Brains Brains Brains Brains Brains Brains Brains Brains Brains Brains Brains Brains Brains Brains Brains Brains Brains or this one to boot: The crying baby reminds me of fast food meals with a prize inside I think it's important to know your enemy

hmmm... zombie psychology... I suppose that could be helpful in setting up kill zones as we clear the cities out. Might save on ammunition if we lure enough to expend the full energy of our .50BMGs into zombie flesh.
Also, those haikus are just plain awesome.

In the book you get to see the complete mental breakdown and capacity of the individual. It's quite the eye opener. Especially how "food" is described: Her toes are like grapes with the same rush of flavor Same juices, same pop. There are still basic functions, but also some simple deduction can be made: Through the neighborhood I try to remember where people congregate My instincts steer me to my gourmet dinner feast, a nursing home. The side door is shut. From the side window they stare. So many meals stare. They are so lucky that I cannot remember how to use doorknobs I circle around, and a great surprise greets me: automatic doors! I think we could definately use this information to our advantage. ;D

Book of Eli on DVD already? I'll have to bump that up on my Netflix. However, I did just finish the "Zombie Survival Guide" and "World War Z" by Max Brooks. I feel pretty prepared now The zombie Haiku is funny, and understanding the enemy is essential in any battle. "The opponent does not know me, but I know him" - Tai Chi Classics. We do need to understand the zombie psychology to be able to bait, trap, and destroy. This is worth some research. Now that I've replaced one of my files, and gotten a new drill I'm thinking or remounting one of my machetes as a pudao/naginata with a gada ball one the opposite end. The balance will fall away from the blade but overall it should make a nice anti-zombie tool.

no not on dvd yet. even blockbuster has no release date. saw it online. funny, its not even on ppv, yet, but i watched it online for free. i dont understand why, but sure enjoyed watching it.
i liked the part where denzel says, if you touch me again, you wont get your hand back. so the dude shoves him, grabs his arm, and screams while looking at his hand laying on the ground.
the sword actually looks like a futuristic fantasy machete. apparently stainless, and in real life considered SLO, but the scene is still good.

It looks to me like a real one would work pretty darned well. From several scenes it appears to be made from quarter-inch stock with a very nice distal taper. I'd own one if made by a good maker... farm3.static.flickr.com/2655/3750341441_74bc3b7969.jpg

Yeah, that one doesn't look bad... I thought it be along the lines of that 3000 Samurai crap. Relieved that it's not.

As basic as the blade shape is, it should not be that hard to turn one out.
I would bet that Archerout could whip one up for someone right quick, or Brenno could magic one across the pond for a decent price.

Actually, I would go for something like that. The actual movie prop can be had for $1300 www.premiereprops.com/product_info.php?products_id=7925 but it looks like the main blade is about 24"-25" to bring it to 30" overall. Acherout could probably have it done in an afternoon and such a piece is right up his alley. Brenno could probably one up the piece with his own version in about a day and for the price of a movie stunt prop it would be way more lethal than what was shown in the movie.
