I have handled - as in "held in my hand" this sword and well... I find it just too big. I'm 5'11" and 185 lbs, and this is just too much sword for me. I didn't even feel comfortable giving it a swing - mind you, in part because I didn't have enough clearance, but still.
BUT: If you are a big and strong fellow, it could be pretty good for you! But then again, I can't help but think how faster a big and strong person would be with say, an "ordinary great sword" like the one tinker/hanwei is coming out with.
edit: one of the *most* impressive cuts I've ever seen is featured on that review though... damn!

I was there what that exact sword for review was unpacked. I'm 5'10", 185ish and it was too bulky for me... but not too heavy. Very well balanced for such a huge sword.

Oh. Not precisely a Great Sword. The term great sword has been tossed around a lot, adding to the confusion I meant the first definition included here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_swordsorry for the mix-up.

I have used the term great sword to describe such weapons as the VA Actium.
"boy that actium sure is a great sword."
sorry had to do it.

I absolutely loved all three of the Sienkowicz movies. "With Fire and Sword," "The Deluge" and "Colonel . . . umm, Wolodowski". Sigh, good stuff.

Szabla: I absolutely loved all three of the Sienkowicz movies. "With Fire and Sword," "The Deluge" and "Colonel . . . umm, Wolodowski". Sigh, good stuff. IMHO trilogy book is 1000 times better. I started reading these trilogy books in middle school.Since then I had read them maybe 10 times. Over and over. My mom have old school book (1930ish year) it have woodcut pics of Longinus last fight. It touched my heart deeply.... Henryk Sienkiewicz is a author of Quo vadis. This novel contributed to Sienkiewicz Nobel Prize for literature in 1905.Has been translated into more than 50 languages. His other book is The Teutonic Knights, also translated as The Knights of the Cross, (Krzyżacy, 1900, relating to the Battle of Grunwald); made into a movie with the same title in 1960 by Aleksander Ford. szabla

(Eyes light up, nose lifts into the air) New source of swords? The prices don't sound too bad, either. I'll second what Tom K. said and throw a couple more "Please's" in there as well.
