I read all of mentioned Sienkiewicz novels, some of them more than once. They really are great.

Can you measure the weight of the two hander? Many two hander replicas are way too heavy...

Can you measure the weight of the two hander? Many two hander replicas are way too heavy... I don't have them yet but i emailed Katarzyna from agru.pl/ and ask about weight of sword and saber. "miecz ok 2 kg szabla ok 1kg + - 100 150 g" sword ~ 2kg=4.41 pound, +- 100g-150g=~0.33 pound saber ~ 1kg=2.20 pound, +- 100g-150g=~0.33 pound tomek

That's a great weight. It almost sounds impossible for a sword of that size. P.S. I can think more easily about kilograms than about pounds or libres, I'm from Europe too as you can see.

This topic seems to have evolved into something else before I noticed it, but I have the Hanwei Lowlander. It sure is a beast. Surprisingly, it's about 6 pounds, which I would assume is rather light for a sword this big. I am about 6' tall and 175 pounds, and it handles pretty well for its size. While it is far from graceful, it isn't really unwieldy -the distal taper probably accounts for this. Anyhow, it has a hollow threaded pommel, and the some wood of the handle cracked under the strain of the massive blade not cutting a two liter bottle (whether this was my lack of skill, or its apparent lack of a sharp edge, has yet to be determined The blade had previously survived an accidental encounter with the driveway, though, deepening further my perplexity). I am cutting a new pommel on the lathe, and making a new grip to fit it (which I will peen on); I plan to keep the cross, though. Anyway, It's a good sword, it just has a few issues that can be resolved without too much effort.

Those pics are different from what they showed on their website. And the finish looks crude... unless those pics are from an unfinished state. BUT... I like that look. Now i<m very curious to see your review Szabla !

I tried to teach myself Polish once, but then I realized I'd never be going to Poland often enough to make it count.
Then I realized it's terribad to learn something spoken without...a native speaker.

I had a Hanwei Lowlander for a good 2 hours in my life, the tang bend and twisted in every possible direction vs a 2 litre water bottle. After examination it even turned out that part of the tang was torn off, I made a thread of this as a review with pictures once. But because I got lucky due to a mail mishap I didnt pay for the sword and returned the faulty version. Currently I have the cold steel great sword (older version) wich is doing great against pretty much anything, but I heard desturbing rumors about the new version. I currently own this 2 hander wich is equally large as the lowlander Only gripe about it is that it weighs 6 kilos, wich makes it near impossible to wield correctly. But it sure can take a beating. Now i'm looking for a real good 2 hander it must be 170 cm or larger , and weigh the proper amount of weight for such a blade. I also live in europe so i'd like to know if i can order across seas aswell. Thanks in advance.

Today i got Hawei Hanwei Lowlander Two Handed Great Sword SH 2065. It's a VERY big sword but it's not very heavy. It came in pieces so i had to put it together and what annoyed me is that the handle was sort of loose on tang. So i shimmed it, right now it is fine. IMHO the tang should be wider and thicker. Near the end where the tang is threaded is too thin for such a long blade. I sure wouldn't trust this sword in a real battle ;D Some pictures Over all i am still happy of this purchase. szabla

Tang SH2065 Hanwei Lowlander compare to Tinker line Great Sword of War tang. Tang SH2065 Hanwei Lowlander In closer inspection i find welding sings...it does not seems to be that tang was welded to other part but like, i can't find English word, some place was over-welded(?) because not enough original material on tang. szabla

Thanks, Szabla! +1 for the pics. I think that what appears to be welding marks are just heat marks from when the tang was ground into shape... but I could be completely off. Argh! Now I want this sword more than ever... for $189, it's a steal. ;D Thanks a bunch for your help, man! -Slayer
