Wow... I would not have thought our tastes so similar, but that sword is in almost every way what I would love... the only thing I might have wanted different is the grip color, beyond that its perfection to my eyes... amazing. My original design called for a green grip, but John surmised, and rightly so I think, that the brown would look better....

Man, I keep coming back to oogle at this thread, and I'll say it again: Hot DAMN that is a nice-looking sword. I'm even finding myself .... *gulp* ..... admiring the ring pommel. I'm CHANGING!! Agh! Say it ain't so!
But really, if there's a sword to turn me over to the darkside of liking ring pommels, this is probably it. Gorgeous piece, Marc. You should be proud.

^ what Luna said. Veeeeery pretty sword. And your descendants had better not sell it for crack, or you'll have to come back from the grave and haunt their sorry druggie asses!

Thanks folks!! Marc it would be nice to see a side shop of the hilt, as the pommel tapers in thickness from fat at grip to thinner at peen block for handling and weight purpose. You can also mention what the sword cost if you want. I know I said please don't but alot of folks still think that this was $1500 sword and was really more like alittle over half that. The pommel was cut from a solid block of mild steel and the guard was hammer forged to shape. The blade is 5160H steel so has way more carbon than regular 5160 steel. It was quenched in 400 degree oil and tempered at 400 for 1 hour and then 350 for 1 hour. The grip is woodcore with cord and thin leather wrap. Would have liked to have doen a scabbard for it but that was Marcs call.

Mmmmm.... John, after I get my first Odin, we may have to talk about a sword like this... not exactly the same of course, but similar.

George is right... its not a $1500 sword in quality... its easily 2 to 3k worth of quality if not more.
John did this sword for the bargain price of $900. Yep ,,,, thats right... and its a foolish move to buy ANYTHING else for around $1000 ...
Would LOVE a scabbard... but well ... yall remember that speeding arrest? that cost me the scabbard. One day when I have $$$ again, I hope John will agree to make one for me...
John... A full review of this MARVELOUS sword is in production now with LOTS of new pics... around 50 I think... COMING SOON!!! Cutting vids too

If I get a deal anywhere as good I will surely be the happiest person in the world for some time lol... you got booked for speeding that much marc? did you whip out the Ferrari and have a race or something?
