Well, don't take this the wrong way Marc.....but if It were me I would cut my budget almost in half and buy a nice Arms & Armor sword....Then I would give a nice donation to a charitable organization that helps children or something like that.....Not to say that you don't already do something like that....but if you already do a little extra would be great. Sounds like you already ordered something.....but just a thought for next year perhaps?

I dislike the way many charitable organizations distro funds. As a result I dont donate to many.... oh every year I donate tons of clothes... either to CWC or to needy people of my own choosing... My entire family prepares and delivers meals... and I am always paying powerbills for families with no lights... Just last week my woman and I donated 30 pairs of jeans and as many shirts , and a few coats to a family that needed clothes . Just yesterday I picked up someone just released from jail... walking in the rain... gave him dry clothes... fed him Cracker Barrel and gave him a ride to his destination 20 miles away... At one time i rented a house and allowed just released drug offenders with nowhere to go live there ... I do my part... and do it actively... instead of just signing checks... Last year i spent months doing charity work... Everyone should help out however and whenever they can... but you must also afford yourself things you love as well.....

That imho is the best way to do charity, it puts a face on the help received.

That's great Marc. I'm glad to hear that you do your part to try and help others....Hope you don't think I was trying to say anything bad....I just don't have much of a way with words I guess.....and was trying to get people to think about others who are having a hard time right now. I don't have much money.....so I can't really do much as far as making donations go.....But try to help people out when I can. Anyways, sorry if it seemed like I was trying to say anything negative as that was not my intent.

Indeed what you say is true... but you say you dont have much money... no issue. get a grocery store to donate bags and go about the neighborhgood hanging them on doors with a note to please place an article of clothing, or a can of food in the bag, and hang it back on doorknob on an appointed day... This is invaluable to helping local clothes or food banks..,. also tyhis time of year shelters and food banks and soup lines etc, are scrambling for volunteers... Thanksgiving is an excellent opportunity to do some voluteer work,

Thanksgiving is an excellent opportunity to do some voluteer work, The BSA does that every year. It's a great program. Well, they Used to do it every year. I haven't gotten a bag or a note in a while. I think I'll talk to the local troop and see what's going on... Did you get anything yet? I justran across this thread and was thinking that since what you want is an additional $4500 past your budget, that maybe that budget should be stashed aside in an interest bearing account and added to a little bit every month until you Can afford what you Really want. Edit: well, nm. Just a thought for next time, then...
