Have one inbound. I'll be breaking out the antiques and the Huanuo's and doing some comparisons. I can't wait to see the comparison.

Poohze, you are welcome. Linda Heenan, has a wonderful resource available for those of us who study Chinese Sword Arts, and I try to visit her site on a regular basis. Shipping is a big problem for you guys in the land down under, and while some of the items you can get from American and Canadian vendors, there would be (I'm assuming) a lot less customs issues buying domestically. She also carries Huanuo Forge blades, and I believe some antiques. She also has the only Chinese Gambeson & Tasset pattern I have been able to find. (It was developed as a joint effort between Mrs. Heenan and Scott Rodell.) Wow, yeah, I've been poring over this site for two days! I can't believe I didn't know about it before, especially as she's based in my old stomping-grounds (Katoomba). Just my luck that something like this starts up there after I move away . With the currency exchange, shipping etc, the price is comparable to ordering direct from the US. I like to deal locally where possible, so this is great. Thanks again! Cheers Marc E (Oh, and +1 )

Received mine today. A bit busy tonight, so I'll try to get a review up tomorrow. For now, I'll say that the fittings are pretty dang tight (I was pretty worried about that grip wrap when I first ordered), the blade looks solid, and the scabbard is awesome. As mentioned by someone previously, it is on the longer end of the spectrum and thus feels rather hefty. Should lend to some awesome cutting though.

Review is up.
Edit - Vid is now uploaded. Pretty short though.
Once I move back into my apartment at Rutgers, I'll disassemble it and show any improvements to the construction compared to another Hanwei jian I have (the "Damascus Tai Chi" jian).

Thanks, Gundoggy. Marc may have decent prices, but he doesn't know much of anything about CSA. I don't think you can possibly go wrong ordering directly from Scott Rodell.
