I don't know. Even if the VA practical is better for beginners, I still think I might wait for a review on the GSOW first.

Shadowhowler is right, but the main reason is financial. I only have so much money to spend, and what I get with it could be all I have for years. I have loved knights and swords since my childhood, so this is really important to me.

I have loved knights and swords since my childhood, so this is really important to me. So if you're set on getting the Norman, are you going to go ahead and order it right away, or wait until you make a decision on the longsword? I know that I'd be interested in seeing a review of the Norman; looks like a great sword.

I will probably wait, although it will be difficult. I don't really know why. I could get the norman now and everything would be fine, although I have heard that the geometry on the norman was not quite up to Tinker's standards.
