Wouldn't an oar made out of steel get pretty rusty? I think I can kinda get the appeal of something like that in a fantasy game or anime when you're just going for a really flashy look to everything. But I still think it looks like an oar. It looks more like a steel snowboard to me. I think that there is a difference between flashy and rediculous.

Yup, but the difference is determined by each person. What some people like for being flashy others will hate for being flashy or find ridiculous. I'm not a fan of swords like that , but I think I can make the leap of imagination as to why some people would. Keep in mind that there's plenty of people who think that collecting swords is ridiculous, but we all seem to disagree with that, don't we?

Big sword for big enemies. What's to get? LOL Too big to be lifted easily, let along swung with any chance of actually hitting anything, making it useless?

Hint: That sword is one of the reasons I never played FF.

This brings to mind something about glass houses and throwing stones. Yes, it's not a usable sword, but most of society would consider a perfectly usable sword to be a silly waste of space.

I think that most of what American society likes is a useless waste of space, like TVs, computers, etc...

WOW...that is the most expensive sword that I've seen yet. When the page came up, I first saw the price in NZD at $10,000. I was like, "That's the price of a car!" but then I changed it over to USD...and it's still $6,000. It is a very nice looking sword. What makes it so expensive? Is it because of the cost of materials/labor? Is it because of the craftman's reputation? Or...is it just because they can? At any rate...wow...

Braveheart I think it's a combination of those factors. $6K is a common price for awesome custom works. But I guarantee Jake Powning spends wayyyyyy more manhours making one of his masterpieces for this price than these good folk. wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more....

Jake Powning was the first smith on my list of custom sword makers. Ever since I first followed a link to his website from SFI I have told myself that I shall have at least one sword forged by him.

More, if you can afford it.
That Cloudbuster sword is ambitious to say the least...and there are people out there who have that kinda cash to burn who'll buy it. Then they'll need the number to a really good chiropractor because their back and shoulders are gonna be outta wack for a while tryin to pick it up and swing it like in the game.
I never liked the game...why must I wait for you to attack me FIRST before I can respond in kind? Never understood the fun in that. I remember getting FF VII on someone else's word because to them, it was the most awesome think to hit the PS since electricity...boy was I disappointed!
I took it back to the store where they promptly told me they don't do refunds on opened games; I made a suitable enough disturbance that they changed that policy temporarily just for me. Or so they said. I didn't care...that was $50 at a time when that kinda money actually meant a lot more to me than it would now...

That is by far the best looking version of the movie Glamdring that I have seen so far. I know that it is not exactly like the movie Glamdring, but it is a combination of the movie version and the description in The Hobbit. Brendan, your Glamdring is my favorite non-movie Glamdring that I have seen. That sword had better be durable for it costing $4000+.

I think they might have a LITTLE liscense to poke fun at LOTR, considering Bret was in The Fellowship of the Ring AND The Return of the King: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Figwit
