it better be made out of at least 1095, 5160, K12 or 9260 however, for that price each blade must have gone through various rituals by which a few extras in the movie were sacrificed with their souls bladebound to secure structural integrity.
btw, you can get the same number for each sword they coming out with...chose between 1-10 first come first serve.

What do you mean by choosing between 1-10 and getting the same number? And they want $1,906.67 for Gandalf's cloak. LOOOOL...

Well it says NZD $9524.33 which I would guess is New Zealand Dollars.Even doing the conversion to US dollars it's still $6341.17 for that price it had better been in the movie.Nice sword but way overpriced.

I will laugh if it is stainless steel. I is more than likely way overpriced, since they want several hundred dollars for a cloak.

It's from Peter Lyon so I can assure you the pricetag is well warranted This is the man who designed all the swords for the Lord of The Rings Trilogy. A really good guy by all accounts. A mate of mine is a wax makers apprentice at weta studios (about a 10 minute walk from my house) and can attest to to peter's sheer awesomeness Here's another masterpiece www.wetanz.com/late-medieval-longsword/and one more (beautiful!!) www.wetanz.com/the-machaera/

Pretty nice. But if I had that kinda money to drop on a fantasy sword, I'd buy Brendan's version in a heartbeat: www.fableblades.com/Anduril.html And then I'd still have enough to buy a half dozen Albions to mess around with. It's certainly a stunning piece, but there is no way the value for money element is there. Just my $0.02.

Pretty sword...but overpriced. You can get unique kat made by a renowned smith with unique custom fittings for that money. Then I'd have a unique kat and not a movie replica.

What you have to bare in mind is these are hand made custom swords... just like you would get from Odin Blades or Howard Clark or any of the top of the line custom smiths. Except these are hand made by Peter Lyon, the guy who made the versions for the move and therefor has direct rights to their production. They are worth what you are willing to pay for them. Peter has MORE then enough work to keep him busy, he dose not need to produce these for the privite collectors market to keep food on his table. So if he is going to do what basicly amounts to 'side work'... its got to be worth his while. All this talk of 'they are overpriced' is, to me, a bit of color. Whos to say what these should be priced at? If the Aundril sword was 3k instead of 6k, would you buy it? I bet you would not. So... obvously YOU are not the intended market. The market for these swords is someone who wants as CLOSE as possible a functional sword from the movies... and it does not get closer then to be hand made by the guy who made them in the first place. Savay?

The intended market for these swords are like the guys who used to work for AIG etc. Even if they drove the company to crappola they still make millions in bonuses lol. What's $10k to them? Yah so some of them are LotR fans too. I know I'm not right on but pretty damn close.
I agree for people like us we would know how to best spend the 10k - on Brenno, BB or John Lundemo and others to come up awesome swords.

If I had a million dollars.... The most droolworthy sword I've seen in...well, can't remember how long. Maybe ever. Anduril's always been my favourite. And handmade by Peter Lyon? Wow... Now, would I actually cut anything with it? It would be a shame not to and a shame to...perhaps it would be better not to introduce such torment into my life. No, it would be worth it. Luckily I can't afford it nohow. At least it brought me out of the lurkdom I've been in for almost a year...

Savay? Sean, nowhere on that page does it say if it's functional. I know Lyon is really well respected, but if it doesn't say it, I'm not assuming it. Now if they made a completely film-accurate and functional Glamdring or ranger sword that weighs less than 4 pounds, I might have to sell my kidney and become a blood and sperm donor.

I'd suggest those who doubt the "functionality" of peter's swords to look at the video in the OP's link -Kidcassanova: I believe the reason they didn't state whether it was functional or not is because it is sold blunt and, let's face it, the thing is bloody expensive. I wouldn't want to do any cutting with it

FIVE pounds? And six grand? That is the worst shiny POS I have ever seen M. I would've thought 5 pounds was an acceptable weight for a sword of that size?

I'm guessing a large amount of the weight (at least a pound) is in the pommel. Ordinarily a sword of that size would be much lighter, but this has very ornate fittings. I'm also curious as to the construction of the handle. If it's metal like I believe the UC replicas were, then it would again add more weight.
Actually, it shows the handle is wood in that video, I didn't see the link to it in the OP's link, good catch Chris.
