Burn the witch! Naw, just kiddin, I kinda like the changes on the Fathers sword, the Atlantean not so much. I agree with Ric 100% For me, if your going to do the movie sword in the first place, why muss it up so much? Why not just do your own thing in the first place? When you take an icon like Conan's sword and you fiddle with it like that... well... it just feels weird. I'm in LOVE with BB's Conan sword... thats all I can say about that. As for resale... I think you DO make it much harder to sell later if you mess with it... many, MANY people love the Conan sword and would pay good money for it (Me included.) but how many people are going to pay that same cash for a funk-o-fied version of that sword? Many less, I would expect.

Mr. Brendan, the uniqueness of your swords is what makes them so beautiful. That is all I will say.

I love the changes! They make a lot more sense. Especially that Fathers Sword! Drool worthy!

Thanks everyone for your insight. I think you all have valid points, which I was considering. Leoghen has hit the nail on the head I think. I am working on a Barbarian Atlantean blade for BB. I will display that (once finished) on the web as an option, Just as I have displayed his Father's sword blade on the web as an option. The one I made him was closer to the movie sword than mine as it was borader, and profiled closer to the movie sword than mine - which had 1/3 diamond section toward the tip as I wanted it to handle better. So I will be able to put the longsword version on the site, as well as the moviesword immitations. Thus, people can choose if they want to order one, or design their own. But for me I want to make it as a longersword, as they are just too stumpy to me, and too heavy for one handers. The profile taper and longer handles should assist their feel. And the profile taper will help reduce weight, esp. toward the tip. I will also do a fair bit of fullering to them. I made a long and large HeMan sword in similar proportions, and I really like that too. I'm hoping the finished result is similar. (I think Leoghen will own this sword someday...)I guess the bottom line is I can make people anything they want, so I will just do these as I want, and try to give something new to people to see. Then handle requests on a case by case. Thanks guys!

I like your ideas...I'm a huge fan of the movie but never really loved the sword...I guess because I knew even then I'd never have the sinews to wield it. Still...you're a visionary, Bren...no doubt about that.

Hey Brendan, I just wanted to suggest these two slight changes to the cross-guards to better compliment your blade designs.

Great mods BB. Still I won't try that yet. I'll make the longswords with the original sets that you just sent me. I'm sure they'll look great. I don't mind the look of a short guard on a longsword. I quite like it really. Maybe oneday we can do these versions, or we can put the photoshopped pics on the webpages to see if they get picked up. Maybe if my longswords sell I'll try some modified ones. All good fun to play with thanks EP

I just never liked how the handle was hand and a half on the fathers sword in the movie and always weilded as such, it would of been so much better with a single handed grip and the father with a shield or what not ........ conans atlantean was fine all the way ...... suppose we should be gratefull it was technically practically they could of made it three times bigger as a prop

Brissy - It's just way too weighty to be a single unfortunately. It's a good bastard. You can swing it round with 1 hand and catch/arrest the momentum with the second. Thats the problem with a movie sword. It's gotta be seen on film. Progress - I have sculpted BB's Barbarian atlantean blade. It hasn't been Ht'd yet. But as far as shaping goes I'm very happy with how it's going. The weight at this point is How much does your Destroyer blade blank weigh BB? That will give us a close indication of what this will weigh in the end. Here's some shots of my first full length fullered blade too. It's a XVI I guess. It's been a learning curve, but all good (in the end :x) It's for my set of 2 Angel Blades. I have 2 sword both in construction for a Male and Female Angel couple. They share many commonalities. This blade is for the Female blade.

Angelic blades...very cool, Brenno. I often wondered if someone were ever going to make a 'real' one, as opposed to those horrid wallhangers circulating the Web.

Progress Report: I have just completed BB's Barbarian Blade. It's virtually identical to the Destroyer blade of his craft, just without the little tags/ ears at the base of the edge, and slightly shorter. I also received a very joy inducing and heavy parcel from the US yesterday, with the parts for my Atlantean, a new Father's, and my revised Rhindon parts. So I am a happy camper with a lot on his plate BB's Blade: mmmm

Getting sued for copyright infringment..heh. Nice. What you talking bout Willis? We haven't offered any of these up for sale for a profit. If a couple of craftspersons want to make their own swords for their own personal enjoyment I don't see the problem.

Looks pretty sweet Brendan! The look doesn't seem to suffer any for the lack of the little ears. I know I weighed the bare blade but I can't for the life of me find where I wrote the figure down I've put up a little video in the cutting sub forum /index.cgi?board=cutting&action=display&thread=12557
