Fantastic!
I always like to see this thread bumped. It gives me a good reason to read through it again, admiring the swords and displays.
Eventually, I may imitate your display style with my far more modest collection.

I can’t seem to find them on the KoA website. Is it a FB only thing?

Welcome navrto.
Per Google Translate:
”Hi and this is what version of the sword? Does it have any value when it is in the finding state? There is a Z401 marking on the saber and I did not find any other markings anywhere.”

I have a few Hanbon folded steel katana. They all come from the budget end of Hanbon’s lineup.
Imho, they did a good job with the steel. There are no apparent voids or welding flaws. The temper seems very good. The random pattern is consistent throughout the blade. It is also subtle enough to permit the non-etched hamon to take visual priority.
Obviously no one will mistake it for the grain of tamahagane, and it is not historical in appearance. That’s okay with me, though. My fittings aren’t historical, either.

If you watch Kingdom of Heaven, choose the director’s cut.
Don’t forget the Highlander TV show.

so were we in a bidding war for this troopers that was just on ebay? I would say I went over budget on it but tbh I didn't set a budget lol! Had to have it! …I'm letting the coffers re-build.
Unless I see a Swiss M1867 mounted officer at least… Excellent choice!

Just a couple years. It's a disease that empties bank accounts. …I'm actually running out of wall space … But I keep seeing things on the forum I want!… Time to start rotating the pieces you display! 😊

Wow, I'm jealous! And it's not decommissioned. Even better. That's the officer version right?> It is the trooper version. The Officer version has the British-leaning “gothic” style hilt which sports the pointed arches aesthetic. Credit: Pino Edit: Nice sword!

Honestly, I don’t think stropping will help much.
Perhaps a useful middle ground would be using metal polish such as Mothers Mag. It doesn’t remove much metal, but may soften the appearance of the scratches. Just a thought.

Very nice.
Is there any issue drawing a forward curved cavalry length saber?

Obviously, I highly recommend getting your paws on an L Driggers / J&L knife or sword if you can.
Very high quality and workmanship. Strong historical fidelity. Outstanding steel. Really - truly awesome steel. All the good stuff. Every time.
I happen to really be into sword types that have broad blades with strong distal taper and thin foibles, such as falchions, messers, oxtail dao, and early 19th C. cavalry sabers. There aren’t many craftsmen willing to make, say, a falchion with proper blade geometry. Correctly and successfully tempering such a thin blade is just really difficult. Or so I’m told.
Not only can Lyn nail the tempering, he keeps the blade laser straight.
I own an Albion falchion, which is very nice. It really comes to life in the hand. Yet several of my J&L falchions and messers easily match or maybe even best it. And where the Albion is clinically impeccable, the J&L’s are aesthetically crafted; lively to the eye as well as the hand.
Anyways, if you can out-draw me, definitely get one!
