The tang looks fair good. It'd be nice if the threaded part was longer/went into the pommel more. Also would be nice to see a shot of the tang shoulders.
Granted, this is the SS version, but it gives a good idea of what the MC versions might look like stripped down.

kid, it was the SS version and I suspect the tangs are the same. Again, not sure if that end is threaded or not but it at least does not appear to be welded on, but hard to tell with the guard in the way.

I was pleasantly surprised for a SS wallhanger... in fact, I find the United Cutlery LOTR swords to be quite well balanced (*ducks as someone throws a sword), well at least Strider's and Glamdring. Now if only United Cutlery and MRL teamed up to produce an offical forged version in the sub $300 range...

As long as Windlass was willing to make some stiffer blades. I'd prefer to see VA make them. I love my two Windlass arming swords, but their longer swords (with a few notable exceptions) are too flexible for many people's tastes.

The Foe Hammer was always my favorite, since I saw the movies first (shame) I always pictured the leaf blade when I read the books. I own the UC sword of Boromir as well, which is extremely beautiful, and would like a functional replica closer to the movie one; not that the ones floating around out there arn't nice, but something about the movie one was just spot-on for me in terms of looks.

Christian Fletcher did a nice Boromir. I'll try one oneday when I get my beltsander to do the broad fuller (bloody fullers). I know that Rob Miller will do one before long, as I had an enquiry for a Boromir that I knocked back and it was comm'ed to RM. It will be a while off though.

Yea, Christian's Redeemer (his version of the Boromir) was flawless- I have to say here that of late, the last couple of years, has seen a surge in quality with regard to sword repros, guys like John, Gus and Tink led the charge and with the addition of smiths like Brenno and others, we're seeing an incredible array of swords for all price ranges. It's very exciting to be witness to it. Thanks to all; the smiths for doing the work and us customers who hold a love, in some cases life long, for the sword, thereby creating a marketplace where there is something for just about everyone.

[glow=purple,2,300]Sexy[/glow] I would not have gone with blue myself for the grip, but it's a nice looking sword none the less.

Very Cool Jash. Have you ever managed to dismantle the hilt for a peek at the tang? As for taking apart the MC Glam - Sorry, but not yet... I shall giv'er a go in a couple weeks when I'm back at home with my swords...lol. Apologies for the really late reply to this... So i am at home, and i did try to take apart my MC Glam. But, no luck. I'm a pretty big guy, and put quite a bit of effort into it. So, at least i know the handle is on there pretty good; and i'm too scared to try any harder. Hope that helps...

So upon inspection you can't find any sign of peening at the end of the grip, it may be very hard to see if it's recessed in and polished. I assume it'd be threaded. Are you guessing threaded?

LOL @ Brenno
That was funny. I'll see if I can't get my Glamdring apart tonight; I just took it out of its hiding place in the closet with all the other 'hangers.

Here's the hilt components...why are these images so huge? First, the pommel-end, you're looking at the underside where the screw (and pommel) seems to have been permanently mounted
