I have other pics but I don't know how to do anything with them so I apologize in advance for the poor photography skills. The other pics I have are of the handle (cast metal wrapped in leather), spacer, guard- let me know if I should bother posting them.
So long, Glamdring.

Awesome work, +1 for your sacrifice. I have broken just about all my wallhangers. 2 Conan swords in pieces - and cut up for steel stock, my Narnia sword is in pieces and salvaged for the pommel and guard, my CAS Kris sword got angle grinded - I don't know if theres much to salvage of that POS. I am using the Narnia pommel and guard and making a whole new designed sword for them. That scabbard of yours looks pretty decent I could cast that pommel, and guard, cut the blade up for stainless athame daggers. It's worth more in pieces... I guess the guard and pommel are cast but are they pot metal ow quality stainless I wonder. It would be cool to 'reforge the sword' using the pommel, guard, and scabbard and make it a new blade and grip. But really how much harder would it be to just continue the tang, cut in the thread, and hey while you're at it use high carbon steel. It's so sad that the market blindly accepts that quality. Can you confirm is that the UC one?

Yeah man, there is a half decent one out there. I think Swordboy bought one? ? I cant remember who made it. But I think it was ok. Someone out there will remember where it was here. It was all on this forum somewhere. busted my but for a year trying to find a decent copy of the sword but came up empty best of luck but you will most likely need to go custom for a Good glamdring

Can you confirm is that the UC one? Thanks man, yes it is the UC one, I have the COA and 'official plaque' somewhere at home. I took a pic of the LOTR brand on the backside of the blade but the flash obliterated it. Let me tell you, to get those pics I had to take the mem stick out of the camera and put it in my PSP and upload them like that- stupid USB cables keep getting lost! I actually am keeping the guard, I like it- I think its pretty well made considering it was probably cast; the scabbard is balsa wood core I believe, wrapped in leather. It has held up very well over the years. So, Brenno...what would you charge to make Glamdring if I provide the guard and scabbard? I'll provide the pommel as well, but the nut's frozen fast in it so I doubt it'd be useful for other than to trace out the design or whatnot. It was a gift from an ex so I'm not too torn, but I do miss her already. Oh, by the way- you're welcome to the blade if it'd be of any use to you, I certainly won't do much with it. Funny, now that I think of it...I know I saw one very much like it somewhere, but supposedly non-stainless. I gotta go look around.

Ebon: you are better off PM'ing Bren about the price he would charge as asking in open forum is not the best option. Bren likes to keep pricings and arrangements between himself and clients and is a very discreet man to work with, just as a heads up

I wonder if heating the pommel up would allow it to let go. It must be doable. I reckon it would be really cool to redo it. As for price email me at brendan@fableblades.com and we can chat. I'd need the old blade to imitate the dimensions to make sure the new blade could fit the scabbard. The first thing to check is the steel thickness of the blade. If it was a piddly 4mm like those windlass then the new blade wouldn't go. Anyway get in touch if you're interested. I'd like to see a real Glamdring happen too.

Wow Paladin... +1 for saving my Glam Just a quick question though (hard to tell by the pics), was your Glamdring the regular UC version, or the Museum Collection version?

Thanks Jash, and it was the regular version. By the way, your first name wouldn't happen to be Hugh? LOL Sorry, a Bart Simpson prank call just popped up in my mind.
Bren, I might already have a blade for you (not the stainless one I already have, this is a different one); this isn't something I'm gonna jump on immediately so...I'll keep you posted.
Edited to add: Sean, you have to know I was referring to the sword as 'her'...the ex can go jump anywhere she likes for all I care. lol

Arno Eckhart from the 'Traumschmiede' made a Glamdring, a custom piece. Probably the best Glamdring you can get. About functionality, there is no sword that functions better, be sure of that. But 'Elbisches Schwert', that's what he calls it, is REALLY pricey, about 2300$, at least. If you want to spend that, go for it. You could also contact him for any other custom fantasy sword that fits your bill. Ah, it's all written in German, but you'll find 'Glamdring' nontheless, there are many pictures. Which strider sword? The one from Arno Eckhart?

Yes. It's highly movie-accurate while not being chunky looking. I dig it.

Ohh yes, he is!! I wish I could afford a sword from him. I actually visited his smith once, he lives like half an hour away from my house. I thought I was in heaven ;-)

I much prefer the absence of that rain guard D shape on the seen on the UC strider.
