that's right I got my hands on a TMNT Leonardo sword and just had to test its keen edge on an empty bottle, I'll let the video tell all:

Ahhh to be young....
I remember when i was little and ninja turtles was all the rave. My best friend lived down the street from me, and we used to run around the neighborhood playing like we were the ninja turtles. My friend Louie's father worked in a local steel mill and machined him up two full length Leonardo swords with all the trimmings. He made them extremely blunt, and would only let him use them around the house.
Me on the other hand played as Donatello, and had an old 5 foot piece of closet rod for hanging clothes on. Then wrapped some hockey tape around the middle with rolled tape underneath to form finger grips. He would always tease me that he had the better weapons, which he did.
But i had to improvise, and was proud that i made my own "toy" for our escapades. Good memories then! Much simpler then....

Awesome.
I, too, grew up with the Ninja Turtles. I have a cassette somewhere of a concert I once attended with my father...I must have been five years old at the time, remember it only vaguely, but it was great.
I've seen some of the old classic toys I used to have popping up at Target (where I work) and have a fit of nostalgia every time I go down that aisle...

I also grew up on the turtles. I was obsessed (Particularly with Leonardo, and yea... It was the blue and the sword). My cousins always stole my ninja turtle plastic swords.

I really enjoyed that vid Tom !!! It reminded me of the days when my Boys were that age and I was their hero and they believed that everything I did was wonderful and wanted to imitate me. Enjoy every second that is possible with your children while they're with you. Looks like you already do that. + 1 2 U

Cute Tom. Very cute. My son is 5 and sadly he doesn't have the attention span to work with swords. I'm still trying to teach him basic karate.

Very cute video... enjoy them while they are young Tom, they will grow up on you and become teenages. Remember what a Tool *YOU* were when you were a Teen? Oh yeah, get ready. ;D As for TMNT... I wonder if anyone here is enough of an old school comic geek like me to recall the original TMNT comics by Eastmen and Laird? I'm talking WAY back, before the cartoon, before the first movie... The were in black and white, and only to covers were in color. Later, they released them as graphic novels with full color. Anyway... they were pretty hardcore then. No color coded headbands... no 'pizza!' or silly stuff... hardcore. Those were my ninja turtles, before the got co-opted for americas youth. Heh.

So Garrett, just one question, Ninja or Pirate? If he's smart, he will go pirate. Pirate's have more fun, cooler clothes, and pirate's get ALL the BOOTIE.
