Hey all, just had a chance to go to a local brisbane store warsword.com.au and the owner James let me puruse all 3 CAS Hanwei "Tinker" Models, Longsword, Bastard & Early Medieval Single Handed .......... First Impressions, in a weird way kinda smaller then I expected but maybe thats the typical "build it up in your mind aspect" however being martial blades you wouldnt want them any bigger. I handled the Early Medieval first, lighter then most blades I have handled although it did feel a bit on the blade heavy ....... Now the paranoia set in ....... I asked him if this one skipped past the bad QC that the first batch had he insisted it had ....... but then feeling the Bastard sword I dont know the bastard nearly felt lighter or maybe it was just the pommel furthur back adding to balance ......... I dont know ....... also the secondary bevel on the bastard was barely noticeable but the early medieval had it on a bit thick. The fact is I was kinda keen for the single handed one and now I'm unsure because I'm not sure if I handled an ideal version. KOA still have the early med as heavier then the bastard so maybe thats on the money Michael ? The longsword was the sweet piece though, light, long, good length handle and looked like it could be very fast. I would love to get a sharp of each over time but I want the first to really solidify my confidence in the range ? Any thoughts on what I should go for or thoughts on the range in general

James seems like a nice guy. Cool little store he has too. Not much around Brisbane, so it's nice to see somewhere you can actually handle these swords before buying.

He he ..... such a cozy bunch on the forums hey ....... yeah sent a PM to tinker and he reckons the EM should of gone back ........ I did like it really might wait a few weeks and get James to order one from the "fresh and revised" batch ...... or might wait out until the Viking Sharps are ready, make an attempt at a review if the other viking blade lovers dont beat me to it ....... Does ANYONE have a good idea when the "tinker" viking sharps are gonna be on the market Yeah Salinger James seems a swell bloke, had a nice long chat with him, I think he appreciates customers who know exactly what their looking at when they see a sword not just "Oooooo ........ LOTR Strider sword!!!!!" ......... Also by the by he's got some of the best prices in QLD ......... so best prices AND an instore "try before you buy" ...... my kinda guy (he he poet dont even know it).
