Here are some pictures of the set together You get a great idea of the difference in pattern. You can really see the 3 bars in the dagger blade and the sword is more of 1 solid huge piece. Just the difference in how we forged the 2. The sword is actually 7 pieces of cable bundled and forged. The dagger is 3 bars of cable forged side by side. Neat effect.

Yep, I think I will definitely be back. I want to see the forge and hammers in action. I couldn't help but learn a lot just being around the two of you. It was also interesting to look at and handle swords you had made one minute and then beautiful jewelry hand made by you the next minute. Craftsmanship abounding! It's always cool to be a VIP! I highly recommend it.

I never cut myself on my swords.......until now. Oiling these babies down earned me three very minor cuts on my fingers. Soooooo sharp! The damascus blades drank the oil up like a sponge, I'm not sure what to make of that.

Wow Matt, considering how much you handle sharps and for how long it's amazing it took that long for the first cut........oh wait, Kerry said your always the one wearing gloves and he's the barehanded one getting the burns and cuts. So what's the deal with the sponge effect? Took three coats of oil before the damascus blades kept the "wet" look. The leafblade only took one as usual. The blades looked even better today after a rest, the damascus is awesome

I oiled them again just to see and now they are acting normal......just one coat needed. It's cool to have thirsty blades!

It's a good thing I live in Florida. Much less tempting on the wallet. ;D Honestly BKS does fantastic work and I am in awe of the Broadsword.
Dave, you look very young (coming from a 20 year old...haha), how old is your daughter? She looks to be at least around my age (I was guessing mid-20's) and I thought she was your wife!!! Hopefully I age as well as you have, brother.
Congrats again on the beautiful acquisitions!

Living in florida actualy makes it easier to be tempted!
We have dealers at shows in Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa (several a year), Hoggtown, Ft. Myers, Sarasota and a couple more.
They tend to have more stock then we do but we only ship a few high end pieces to each a year.

Hey Kid, I am 45 and Shannon is 20 and a junior in college. Standing next to her probably made me look better (from father's pride). Thanks for the compliment and the congrat's. There may have been a little magic (pride) in those custom blades showing from me as well!

We do always shine when we're giddy about a new piece, and you definitely had cause to be! Hopefully my future family will be as supportive and maybe even share my passion. +1 for a great thread.

Hey I went to the show in Timunium on Sunday. The fishing area was disapointing but the gun and sword show was OK. It was packed with handgun purchasers. I did get to handle a few nice antique katanas and a nice American Rev saber.
Did you see anything at the show UtilitySlave ?

Not really Matt, as you said, the fishing show was disappointing and the family was ready to go so we didn't go into the gun show. I didn't know there was swords in there, I might have insisted stronger if I had. Then again, after the morning spent with you and Kerry, the fishing show would be a distant second and I feally didn't need to spend more money at the gun show. I have to save up for my next BKS customes! Loving my blades even more!!!

Good to hear it. Well in March the same weekend as our hammer in there will be the one show in Timonium that you cant miss. The Antique Arm show. We may end up missing the show becuase we need to be at our event but if I was you I would come down for the weekend and hit that show on of the mornings early. There are top notch museum grade pieces that you can handle. DONT MISS IT !
