my uncle has a sharpener, its a small , thin, rectangular stone with a silver color to it, it says diamond sharpener or something on it and it came in a small leather pouch. it is not something most people sharpen swords with that i see (probably cuz its so small) but it works better than anything , i was trying to sharpen an old sword of mine that was too dull to cut a milk jug and after a few runs across the blade (2 on each side) it was almost as sharp as the tenchi is just got =D (woot tenchi rulz)
i have tried to get a sharpener like this for a while and i cant find one on the web at all and i was wondering if you guys know of this sharpener and could tell me a good place to pick one up

is it a solid dull silver/grey? I got a whet stone from Jonis of UBC in a prize package for the October contest I won and it had diamond in the name and sounds like it is the same color maybe. it is made of aluminum oxide. I haven't used it yet but if it is the same thing then that sounds promising.

Trying to identify a sharpening stone is ridiculous. There have been TONS produced.
Just find a similar stone with the same grit. The market is full of them.
I use a stone that's probably older than 95% of this board's members. It's an old India Oilstone, and it does the job just as good, if not better, than any fancy, diamond, carbine, thingamajig that's on the market today.
