You know its odd. I would have thought that someone would have made instructional videos on axe throwing long ago. After looking on youtube for awhile, I couldn't find one good example. Not one! I couldn't find any how to vids on any of the other videos I plan to do except a couple of crappy vids on throwing knives. Even those don't really teach the basics, they just assume the thrower understands these parts already. Man..... there is alot more out there. I think I'll do one soon on bowie knives. After I do the sharpening video, that one will be next. Again, thanks Bishop, for all your input!! ;D

Yeah when you released your first videos I started looking for more instructional videos and the only one I could find was the video on how to setup and partake in a competition, in one of the videos that guy made(I think from expertvillage) he talks about how most people prefer to throw from five paces etc but never goes into too much detail about it. Which is why I think we should get your videos boosted up a bit more, being quite possibly the only instructional videos on throwing tomahawks. And no problem, I'll do anything to help EDIT, come to think of it, have you posted this on any other forums? I don't know what all they pertain to but bladeforums might get you some more views.

You should post this video and your others as video responses to other semi popular axe throwing videos, this one doesn't seem to be getting as many views as the last one. Honestly, Bishop, I dont know how. I'm not very computer savey. What exactly did you have in mind? Hey Sam, What type of knives do you throw? Regular throwing knives or bowies? Just curious, I"m a Bowie man myself. I've thrown just about every knife I can get my hands on. Found out from experience not to throw folding knives too often as they tend to disintegrate from the stresses of impacting the target. Anyway I've thrown Bowies - nice mass and fun to throw, almost as good in a fight situation as throwing an axe. I've also thrown everything from machetes to your run of the mill table knives. When throwing inside the house though I through some Gil Hibben throwers (the first generation throwers) into a closed cell foam archery target at 5 paces (its all the space I have lol). My fiance throws with me and she's gotten quite accurate too at 5 paces. I also throw bo shuriken, stars, throwing cards (just started doing that so I'm not always successful at making them stick) and the occasional scissor.

I wouldn't think throwing knives would be a very good idea in a combat situation.

I wouldn't think throwing knives would be a very good idea in a combat situation. Definitly not! If in any combat situation I felt I had to throw my weapon in order to survive, it would be a last ditch effort. Even with my axe, I would rather fight an opponent than throw unless my paceing was perfect and my opponent was some how stunned and for a moment static. There are even military and ex-military specialist that teach a form of fighting specificaly for handaxes. Tomahawks have been carried by solidiers in EVERY american war. Soliders carry them even now in Iraq. We carried them in Kosovo, and while they arn't standard issue, military suppliers do offer them. There is an axe now available, kind of like the condor, but way better. If I can get my hands on one of those, I know I'll have a new favorite!!

Kind of like this? www.throwzini.com/condor-throwing-axe.htmlI don't know, I always liked traditional tomahawks better, just more...classy looking? But yeah, throwing your weapon at someone unless you're some kind of master who is confident enough to be able to calculate distance from target and adjust for it accordingly it could end pretty bad lol.

The holidays have been hectic, to say the least. I'll try to do it sometime in January. Fingers crossed. I'm going to redo my target soon, so I may do a video on that too. My biggest problem is time, I just can't find enough of it.

Well don't rush any, I'll be moving in a couple weeks to my granny's house so I probably won't even be online for at least a week until we get the internet up, but a target building video would be perfect for me considering.

Oh gosh, I have no idea I might have access to stumps out there, I would just go with whatever target you planned on making, once we get moved I can buy some 2X4s and make the target you explained earlier if I can't find some logs.

Avery,
I just came across this thread and just watched both of your videos. I may have as many Allen 'hawks as you but I can no way do justice to them the way you do. I have a lot of work ahead!! I appreciate that you did these videos and I know I will improve because of them.
+1 to you!
