Hi everyone, I just arrived. I'm looking for information on the pommel in the photo. I know that the sword is found in Italy, in Padua I believe, and is dated around 1200. If anyone has more detailed photos or information I would be grateful. Thank you

Looks kind of like a Type F pommel but more bulbous. Could be an unclassified type never seen one like that before, at least on a earlier period sword.

Could be a type F, except that it's not flat. Could be a type I1 variant with the bottom corroded away. Or as Dave said, could be an undefined outlier. Pommels! myarmoury.com/feature_oakeshott3.html
