Just to be sure to look around the forum, there are threads. As I said, some had bad luck with it. Edit:I find, when I do a lot of cutting, it's more bothersome to reapply than other methods.

I prefer gun oil or mineral oil. Using CLP Collector right now. I have used rennwax in the past and was disappointed. Developed rust on an Albion after 2 weeks with 2 layers of rennwax applied. I still have a couple swords with rennwax and the others with CLP Collector as a comparison

I'll see the how the Renwax is since I already bought it.
One review of the Hanwei Hanger said that it's antique finish and coating, means that oxidation is less of a concern. I'll see tomorrow, and I guess I'll also see how good they sharpened the edge that I paid for too lol.
Apparently Windlass/Museum Replicas shipped the D-Guard Bowie with Fedex and it should be arriving Friday. I'm pretty impressed actually, within a business week, from Georgia (U.S) to Canada.
