I’m looking to buy my first sword. I want something big, two handed, and inordinately heavy. My goal price is around 200 dollars but that can definitely change. Doesn’t have to sharp or in perfect condition.
As far as shipping goes I’m in the states.
I’m also interested in bare blades but I’d really prefer something thats ready to go.
I’d also appreciate advice!
Thank you for your time!

Thanks for the advice, I was curious about the Hanwei swords but some of the reviews mentioned snapping tangs so I wasn't sure on the quality but I saw them being bought and sold on the forum so I was kinda on the fence. That Kingston arms looks really nice though.

Sharp blades are good to have, if Shire-folk go walking, east, south, far away into dark and danger.

6+ pounds and over five feet long? you've read my mind. Edit: I was going to buy it but seems like the amazon reviewers had some more negative experiences I might hold off on this but its definitely up the right alley. Chinesium is prone to unpredictability lol. Thank you very much though!

For the price it's really nice and I'm happy with mine, though everyone has different expectations. Everything else in this size range is at least double the price. I was considering the Regenyei spadone (https://regenyei.com/product/two-handed-sword-3/#blade) when it was in the sale section here a couple of times or the DSA version (https://www.darksword-armory.com/medieval-weapon/medieval-swords/two-handed-danish-sword-1352/) but I'm not cutting with it so why spend the money.

The DSA Two Handed Danish XVIIIe isn't a heavy claymore. It's a light, thin bladed longsword, usable one handed. A bit fragile, but very agile.

If you are willing to go 650$ there is the new-ish United Cutlery Honshu Historic Claymore. To me it looks better than the others in this price range and isn't overly heavy, but its 3x your price range.

Very nice looking sword, I love the leather wrapped on the blade.

With that much metal you could turn it into a tractor! Just be careful! Mine came very sharp and it's a heavy blade and awkward. You can do a lot of damage just being inattentive. I nearly took out my ceiling fan taking it out of the box, which was falling apart.

I found this same sword under the brand name SCZO supplies, with a few I have seen being sold under differrent names (specifically Urs Velnut by Haller look exactly the same), anybody know who SCZO is and where they make these swords?

I've seen it listed as Rite Edge and Kawashima as well. Something tells me it's all the same Chinese forge. Found this thread

SZCO seems to be a wholeseller, just importing crap from everywhere, some swords on their list are made in pakistan.
But look:
Haller is a known knifeseller, and I always found their swords to be suspect. Now I think they are rebranded chinese stuff.

It’s also common for generic chinese factories to use fake companies with a jumble of letters like “SCZO” to get around some of amazon’s regulations. The one I bought was from SCZO I’m assuming they’re all coming from the same factory.

Well, I didn't expect this thread to connect some dots that have been bugging me for years.

Well, I didn't expect this thread to connect some dots that have been bugging me for years. Yeah, it seems like the same sword everyone gets. Just have to read the reviews. Looking at the test cutting and what people have said, it seems like it's got a soft temper if it's tempered at all. If something this large failed it'd be very dangerous, but I think as long as you stick with soft targets (if you use it at all) you should be fine. That said, I've seen other more reputable brands fail, so caution is definitely advised.
