It’s definitely on the low end but still absolutely within historical parameters. Thanks a lot! I like it that the tip is flat and has no center ridge; only other ones i know are Albion and DelTin. So the only thing to desire is pommel construction... ;-) Who does those typical two-part pommels? most of the smiths out there can do the 2 part pommels or even 3 part pommels

Received today. A custom hilted serenity with a burl grip, split ring guard and an engraved crane set in the pommel. I. am. in. awe. This to me is a Wheel of Time sword, this is how I've always pictured it. I wanted one themed like Lan's from the books, simple with the crane set in the pommel. I don't know why but the idea of that blade was always something I wanted. Process is great with James through Longship and I maintain John's blades are my favorite. I am SO happy with this piece!

I’m very excited to have received my new (to me) French m1822 HC trooper saber today. While these are not particularly scarce or expensive as historical swords go, they are kinda hard to come across in rural Florida. Thanks to a very kind forumite, I already had an m1822 HC officer. However, French officer sabers can apparently vary in specs, so I really wanted a trooper model to get the feel of a “standard” model. This one was made at Klingenthal in 1826. It is in very nice condition, with a firm intact hilt (including the peen), a well preserved blade, and an intact scabbard with no dents. I don’t know if the HC sabers went thru generational changes like the LC did, but this one should be early enough to be a first gen either way. I’m really quite happy to have this, even though I had to release a few old friends back into the world to get it. I’ll do a write up at some point, but I have been slaaaaaamed with work and COVID and other stuff (just like everyone else), so it might be a minute. 😊

Swedish Model 1848 Faskinkniv Ever since I learned these sultry beauties existed... sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/54394/swedish-m1842-47-pallasch?page=1...I have wanted to get my paws on one. For some reason, I do not find the gladius/leaf-bladed "cabbage cutter" short swords to be of any interest at all. Yet it was love at first sight with this recurved half-leaf bladed vixen. This is quite a beast of a short sword. I haven't had a chance to weigh it, but it has a distinct forward balance and weighty disposition. True to its namesake, this fascine knife is explicitly intended for chopping wood and other camp and engineering work on and around the battlefield. It would be brutally fearsome in a melee, but is too heavy for knife/sword fighting. It is meant for chopping limbs; whether wood or bone makes no difference. To me, it looks like a fantasy sword right out of a LoTR movie, yet was manufactured by industrial Europe. Too cool. Messers are probably my favorite type of sword overall, and this is the closest thing to a genuine historical one I am ever likely to have. Cheers.

Standard level or craftsmen series? Very nice anyway! Thanks! It's the Special Edition version, so just the standard. The Craftsman was a bit out of my price range. And beautiful Malatesta! I love the spacer in the grip on that sword.

I love the spacer in the grip on that sword. Yes its also peened; that and the ring were customer custom (ahh... whata pun!)!

My custom scimitar by Purna Darnal, 28 inch blade. I should have this in my hands in about a week. Nice! We might give them a try next year; that looks VERY professional.
