good review
one comment on the hidden nuts - you want the nut to be softer than the threads on the tang. Much better to strip the thread on the sacrificial part (the nut) than to strip the threads on the tang if over tightened.

Much better to strip the thread on the sacrificial part (the nut) than to strip the threads on the tang if over tightened. Very true, still the big issue at least with my Bastard was how frequently the nut came loose after cutting and the x amount of times I had to retighten it definitely resulted in the nut stripping. I wonder if Atrim and Valiant owners deal with the same thing on their internal nut swords? I think we had a thread on it back in the day but don't remember the details of the conversations. Comparatively all my external nut swords from Windlass like the Towton and Roven have survived well and I don't think I've ever had to tighten them. Definitely pro external over internal lol.

I have 2 Atrims and the protruding nut doesn't have flats or a hex socket. I'm guessing he uses a threadlocker (loctite, epoxy, etc) when assembling them.

Great review. I was thinking on the next purchase, and one of them is the Atrim type XII-XIII. In your opinion, you would buy the Atrim or this Hanwei?

Great review. I was thinking on the next purchase, and one of them is the Atrim type XII-XIII. In your opinion, you would buy the Atrim or this Hanwei? I guess it would depend on budget. If I was on a budget definitely the this one but if you have the extra budget I'd go Atrim, he's one of the best for a reason. If you're meaning the Kingston Arms model I'd probably go with this one too, unless you're wanting a shorter blade (32" on the KA/Atrim model), then I'd say try the Kingston Arms Atrim XIIIa. Both are pretty comparable. But the KA/Atrim is $100 more than the price of the H/T GSoW, so again for price and value I'd go GSoW.

Copy that.
Yes, the difference in Spain between the Hanwei and the Atrim is 100 euros. So the Atrim is better sword but for the money it costs the hanwei is a great value and it would not a mistake on buying it
