Looks great, much better than factory standard.
What treatment did you do on the pommel and guard?
Scabbards nice too, my guess is this aint your first scabbard.

Standard perma blue. My third European sword scabbard. Almost looks more "Brassy" in the picture than the normal black ish colour. Is it just the photo making it look brighter? Still looks damn good though and I picked up some gunblue to do some work and after using it on a piece of metal it looked so crummy for me i'm gunshy about touching a sword with it.

Yes, it's just the camera. I used the complete perma blue kit. The results are pretty good if you follow the directions closely.

Nice did similar to mine grip-wise didn't do a scabbard though. Yea the only gripe I has with mine was the square grip shape. The material isn't bad though and is sturdy and probably better than Woodcore since it won't split or weather. Did you just shape the original core or replace it? I just shaped mine. Here's some pics of my finished job.

I did mine on a 3" belt sander came out pretty good. Stuff melts and stinks to high hell but it shaped lol! Guess I got lucky.

When using a power tool on plastic run at slower speeds, least there will be heat build-up causing melting and bad, if not unhealthy, fumes. I was surprised to hear that the grip was plastic. I’ve also heard the grip on their M1840 NCO sword was plastic also. For the first minute or after hearing that, it didn’t set well with me. Then I began to rationalize; it’s wrapped in leather, being plastic weather changes won’t affect it, there’s no worry about improperly cured wood. In the end I have no issues with the plastic and to some degree find it desirable.

Yea I was running it low but it was still melting here and there, it had a weird residue when sanding, almost like when you cut hard cheese with a cheese wire. Yea I had the same thoughts about the composite plastic at first but really it's good stuff. I mean it's good enough for decks and patios simulating wood, why not sword handles?

Stuff melts and stinks to high hell but it shaped lol! Guess I got lucky. I used a 4 inch belt sander to shape the new wood core.
