Sharp blades are good to have, if Shire-folk go walking, east, south, far away into dark and danger.

How much would one of these set a fellow back? Expect about $350, shipping included of course. These are full custom, handmade, hand-forged one of a kind pieces so I think it's a steal for that price. There is nothing like these, even at the price point. I love A&A but Let's take this A&A for comparison. I will allow those with the $400 plus ( after taxes, shipping) to get one of those scabbardless wonders. www.kultofathena.com/product/arms-armor-rondel-dagger/That's actually about what I expected for a one of a kind handcrafted work of art. I do fine art myself and I don't know how many hours it takes to create one of these, but I agree, that's a bargain! I'm remodeling my kitchen next week so a little short of funds right this second, but I think this is my next purchase... something to display with pride from a true craftsman. Is Purna on this site or is there an email I can contact him at when I'm ready to jump on this?

How much would one of these set a fellow back? I agree that $350 for one of these daggers is a good price. The only remotely competitive option is Tod Cutler, but there's problems with that comparison: 1) Tod Cutler is unsharpened, and even if you pay for sharpening, it's a secondary bevel and still not particularly sharp. Everything Purna makes is very sharp with excellent edge geometry. 2) Tod Cutler's daggers are nowhere close to as decorated as these. 3) With Purna you get a wood-core scabbard, as opposed to Tod Cutler's leather sheath. Don't get me wrong, I love my Tod Cutler daggers. They're some of the best value on the market! I think The Levin Lance has really knocked it out of the park with this design, and Purna did the same in crafting the final pieces. If my budget wasn't completely shot right now, I'd heavily consider buying one of them. Where else are you going to get such a beautiful fantasy dagger that still manages to incorporate historical design philosophies for such a low price? Daggers of similar complexity can be had from Tod’s Workshop for roughly 700-2000 British Pounds. UPDATE! Purna just let me know that he will actually do these for now at $300 shipping included via moneygram(No Paypal fee). Just incredible. Wow. That's great! No question! How long does each take to make?

Just fyi I reached out to him and he's set on $350 for each knife. Still a good price, but not $300.

Kidding aside, that is a wicked looking little devil! The blade shape is not my personal cup of tea but I absolutely love the hilt design. Leaning more towards the wood and brass version myself on this one, I think. I think the cool thing about it is that you can keep the hilt completely the same and just tell him you want a different blade. I think another cool option would be something triangular. Triangular (especially concave/hollowed sides) should improve penetration considerably, and you may be able to slightly sharpen the edges. Quad/four sided still the strongest, and you could wield bar mace like impact power with the greater weight, if so desired.

A triangular hollowed blade like Howler suggested would get me drooling all over the keyboard.

Well I pulled the trigger, err, swung the sword, stabbed the dagger, insert appropriate metaphor here, on the buffalo horn and copper version. We'll see how long it takes and if he can duplicate his success with the first set. I'll post it here first, folks!

I'm feeling the pull of commissioning something from him again. Maybe a couple somethings. But money is too tight right now.

You got a beautiful piece of buffalo horn right there, a bit of white. First time buying a custom, so bear with me... Does he use the same dimensions and proportions as the original when he makes duplicates? I realize it's hand made and there will be differences, but from the pics he sent it looks like my blade may be quite a bit shorter than the original. It could be the angle, I don't know, and if he's using the same template I'm sure it's pretty close. But I just thought I'd ask.

I've seen him duplicate his own work before. I'm going to say this is likely a matter of camera angles.

The proportions look pretty comparable to me from this photo from the first page:
