Painted the faux wire decoration with a metallic copper paint. I think it looks decent. Opinions?

Looks good. Makes it pop a little more. Was it just the same color as the rest of the pommel?

Can you fill the carvings with similar paint to give the pommel a copper inlay look?

If the carvings were more defined and sharp, then I might think about trying. It would be very messy to try with how the carvings are from the castings now.

Once I see how well it adheres to the pommel I might try the other two Squire Line Vikings with the faux twisted wire look.

Well I did it with the other two. I like it. Breaks up the monotony of the pommel colors and isn't too outrageous.

Looks good Greg, I actually just returned my SL Vinland back to viking shield I took them up on their 30 day return policy as this model wasn't as good as my previous SL vinland I sold.

Yeah I wish I kept my original it was far superior to this new batch, the original I had you couldn't see the secondary bevel at all and it was sharp all the way to the guard, this version very noticeable bevel and it starts like 2-3" away from the guard. Oh well at least I'm able to get my money back on it.

Those pommels look improved. I like. My hope is that the paint remains. Perhaps an overcoat for better protection?

Luckily it is an easy application with a fine point paint pen. But I am looking into solutions. Maybe a coat of Ren wax not heavily buffed? Interesting solutions come to mind.

Looks great...been thinking about engraving some decorative lines into the handle of a cheap Deepeeka to simulate inlays and would likely paint them. Clear nail polish would work if you can apply it finely enough, I should think, and if you wanted to remove it, acetone would not be an issue for the steel.

Wonder if it would stay on the stainless steel hilt pieces? Can give it a try and see. Thanks
