Like I said, way to much crying. Your right, she was total steel except for her love of Leto and Paul. I purposely didn’t mention missing characters especially Feyd. Sure he’s going to be in the sequel since…oops, almost typed a spoiler. Yeah, a lot of details left out but if you tried to put it all in it could easily turn into ten movies. Maybe more. Like I said above though, they got the flavor of the book. Was great but then the bar was set pretty low and expectations, at least mine, high. But they did it.
Edit: wow I was spelling names wrong. Thought I was doing good. Chani and Jamis. And I’m not sure what you mean by ‘added stuff’ to his part of the story. They actually left out imo. Pm me if you want so we don’t clutter this up with nerd talk. More than it is already. 😏

I'm not a fan of Herbert. His psychobabble, mysticism and cultural rehash of Holy Roman Empire vs early Islam was nonsense.
Surprised that the 1984 Dune actually sticks closer to the books than this Wagnerian drudge. The sets and costuming look like they were collected from a Salvation Army trash dumpster. Surprised that masters of a sophisticated intergalactic empire all dress like Beverly Hillbillies. The ambiance of the books and the 1984 were higher.
Obviously, I don't share the current enthusiasm. A voice from the wilderness who heard your thumppers. :-)

Hell, some people even like chick flicks.

Never bring a Shai Hulud to a Bat'leth fight! Exactly. Wouldn’t want Shai-Hulud to get it stuck in his craw after eating the Klingon wielding the Bat’leth. All hail Shai-Hulud!

Just finished watching it on HBOMax, pretty good and interested in seeing part 2. Wasn't really ever interested in the original movie as I watched it young and sci-fi has never been my thing really. Makes me want to rewatch the original again to see if I get more out of it now that I'm older.
