Just read a post from KoA on Facebook that their new site will be finished next week, with inventory/sales syncing every 5 minutes.

I wonder if they'll add in more sort and filter options. That'd be cool.

About darn time. KoA’s stats on swords are so helpful, but their web design has sadly got stuck in 2002.

Guess this got delayed. Technically it's still "next week," but I doubt it'll be updated on a Saturday. Hopefully it comes soon, though!

That’s great news. The way their stock info worked was grating, and it’ll be awesome to have it be accurate and up-to-minute. I like supporting KoA, and this’ll make that easier.
& Thanks for the reminder/ heads-up in my case.

I'll admit, there's a little part of me holding out hope that if they do add filters that they work like knife center. Being able to look for a specific length range and then organize it by price or newly added would be amazing. Either way, I'm looking forward to it.

I am just hoping they do not make it worse.
It is archaic but I can use its current form
I do hope they really improve it
But Albion updated their website and except for the improved quality of photos it is not as good as their old site. I am not the only one that feels that way

I am not the only one that feels that way Interesting, I feel similar. The new Albion is of course better and more modern..I guess. The pictures are for sure better.... the old site had some really cool write-ups around the history of the sword or the type of sword and I liked the drawings of the sword prior to going into production. All of that kind of stuff added cool context that is missing in the new site.

I noticed KoA had started to cull some of their old listings for swords that have long been back ordered or NLA.
I went thru and took screen shots of the pages with swords of interest to me. Some don’t appear on the store front anymore, but must still exist in cyberspace for the moment. Web searches for a few of my old favorites still link to an archived page. Once their new site goes live, all those links may die.
So, kinda like with Zombie Tools, you may want to grab your screen captures while the pages are available.

They had some great data for statistics. Can't they just revamp the UI and still keep the old data?

I guess that's why it was behaving crazily yesterday. I'm futilely holding out for the return of user reviews.

I hope this update is actually an upgrade. Far too often I see new websites and new UIs that end up being much worse in usability and function just for a pretty look. Hopefully that won't be the case here.
When KoA mentioned the new update was soon, I asked about reviews and didn't get a response.

I am not the only one that feels that way I too miss the old Albion site. I still appreciated being able to look at swords that have sold out of their runs already.

Website it up & running. It is working a little slow...

Well, it's definitely up. Not so sure on the running part. I can get to the home page, but actually navigating anything generally just gets me to a 502 Bad Gateway page. Website transitions always take longer than expected.
Edit: Looks to me like I can quickly navigate the website, but as soon as the website needs to access their inventory database, things time out. For instance, I can navigate to swords -> European swords quickly enough. But those are just simple web pages. If I then try to go to Medieval Swords, that's when it would start listing the actual items, and that's when it dies.
Another easy way to see is go to Brands - quick load. Click on any of them, which would take you to actual items, and dead.
This isn't surprising. With the changes to their inventory tracking, it sounds to me like they've moved to a new database. Combining that with a website upgrade at the same time cannot be fun for their IT guy(s).
