They do a lot of work to build their well deserved reputation. They certainly did their work to earn their reputation for long wait times when they made me wait 3 years for a sword... Well, first they had to mine the ore, then crush the rocks, then build a foundry.....

I got my Albion a week ago and I'm total disappointed. The Grip is totally of the center and the leather is already coming of. Albion first responded by saying that it is just a cosmetic flaw and I should go with it. Since now the leather is coming of I wrote them again that I want a replacement or repair for the grip. Since then no answer at all. This was two days ago. I is really crushing me I waited over a year and paid over a thousand dollars for it plus taxes cause I live in Germany. I hope Albion will help me out with this 😒

I have an axe on order from Albion and they keep changing the date of when I might see it. I understand you have to wait for these, but to be given a couple dates of completion and then have those dates come and go. I have decided to just forget about it. When/if it shows up I will be surprised and happy I suppose.

But the auxilia I ordered in Jan 19 was not received until this month. The employee who made the handles for these type swords became ill and eventually died so they had to find a replacement which took about a year at least on top of the regular wait time. also they were out for a few weeks due to COVID in the shop so that may have affected the time frames as well.

I don't believe steffen's claim at all! His account has been created 2019, so no fishy posts since that. Or non-fishy posts, for that matter. Might be an interested guy just lurking. He hasn't been online since he created his post, so my reply has not been read. Nothing to prejudge here. It's mind-boggling, but there are ppl out there who don't spend a great deal of their time with the joys of the interwebs... so let's calm our paranoia, shall we?

Time will tell. Without photographic evidence, and what many of us know first hand of Albion quality, quality control and customer service, I would suggest a lack of credibility.

Hello again, sorry for not replying over months I was kinda busy. Just for a update, Albion repaired my sword and it looks good now. The only problem I have with the sword is that it makes some kind of clicking noise in the grip when I first handle it after it was standing or lying for a few hours. After that first clicking sound it does not make this again until it is lying or standing for a few hours.....strange. But I'm to lazy to send it back again and I dont think that it will affect the sword in any way nor whould Albion see this as a reason for a repair. Overall I'm now relatively happy with my sword even when they are not the holy grails of swords everyone makes them sound. At the end here are some pictures of my sword before the repair. I still don't understand how this could have ever left the shop. Attachments:

I'm mostly on Forums just to read the posts of others and that also not very often. After Albion contacted me and solved my problem I forgott about the post here Sorry

I still don't understand how this could have ever left the shop. From the 2nd Photo It looks the leather riser at the very end was snipped too short and left a weird valley. Maybe the guy doing the leather wrap thought it was "good enough" and "character marks", glad Albion fixed it, they have been pretty half assed with responses to me these days. I have an Albion Principe that sits on wood stand collecting dust where the leather wrap isn't perfectly center/straight either at pommel end but the leather risers/ridges are all there. Personally I don't mind much if the leather wrap isn't perfect as long as everything else is assembled/fitted/shaped/heat treated properly because it's going to eventually get messed up with wear overtime when used. For swords with a rounded pommel that clearly defines where the grip will end instead of an elongated scent stopper/variation of that shape the chances of uneven/not centered leather wrap termination is reduced i.e. Knight/Squire/Poitiers/Vigil/Solingen should all have perfect grip termination at pommel most of the time.

Well my Medium Danish Axe showed up finally. The wait has been worth it and I couldn't be happier. Well, if it were cheaper maybe. lol
My 2 Albion Axes. The Small Viking Bearded Axe is older and has a slightly different mark.

Would you consider writing up a review on these axes? I'm particularly interested in the medium Dane axe and how it handles and performs compared to comparable axes.

It might take me a while to write anything up. I will say the medium Dane has shot up to be my favorite axe of the ones I have handled. Eric McHugh makes these for Albion, but I think that Albion hafted them per a conversation with them, as you can get them hafted or not. Quality wise easily best of my axes. It is not really light, but not my heaviest. The haft is long and almost feels like a hand and a half axe, if that makes any sense. Can be used comfortably 1 or 2 handed. Here is a pic with most of my other smaller axes, for scale.

The fact that Eric makes them himself is a wonder sign for amazing quality, his axes usually run double what albion charges easily

how long was the wait? they seem to be on schedule mike had just emailed me back, they had estimated about 9-11 months at time of order and they're working on october 2020 orders at this time (when I ordered) so hope to have a viceroy in hand soon

But since it was made at two different places I was given 4 time frames that came and went until it finally arrived.

Back in July I ordered a sword and 2 bare blades from Albion. They said 9-11 months on the sword and 2-3 months on the blades. Blades arrived a little over 2 months from time of order. Looking forward to the sword next summer. When she's ready, I'll drive over to Albion to pick her up (about 95 miles from here).

I'm really close to pulling the trigger on an Albion, but a Youtube review by LIER brought the issue of QC tolerances to my attention. At 1570g, his Brescia weighs 6.4% more than the listed stat on Albion's website (1470g).
Would that be considered a QC issue that Albion would fix (though I'm not sure how) or is that just the nature of the beast with these things?
I've never purchased a sword before so I'm not sure what's considered acceptable or not. Is there a consensus of what's considered acceptable in terms of tolerances for Albion's Next Gen and Museum Line swords?
