The scabbard and hilt should be blue (or red, depending on the iteration). It could definitely be done, but I am suggesting that if you are custom building a sword from the ground up, it doesn't make sense to not get the color right. One of the defining characteristics of the master sword is that it is blue. Just google "master sword" and image search, they are all blue.
Now - I acknowledge that this is supposed to be a more "realistic" build, but you can very easily do a dark blue dyed leather like Sonny and CF do. That is not "unrealistic."
I could buy it and have the fittings completely redone - but then I am in the realm of just ordering a custom.

melcher81 - I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the sword when you get it. One thought I had based on the pictures is that the grip appears to be as wide as the blade where they meet the guard. These measurements aren't given, but I had a concern that this might cause the grip to feel a bit too big. Admittedly this is impossible to know without actually holding the sword. It could totally be a non-issue. Overall I think the sword looks great!

It's a little heavier that I hoped and the handle is too wide. It's rough made and the handguard is held together in separate parts by some sort of epoxy or liquid weld. I had planned to have it modified with a new grip before it came and I think I will love it when I get these done. Actual overall impression other than what's going on with the guard is good though |

For the price with the $75 discount I like it. If someone payed the $2500 that they say it would cost as a one time creation from the company is be pissed. Mostly about the guard

I didn't have similar problems with the sword I have from them but the design mine has would be way easier to make. Only similarity I had is it had a bit of weight and the handle is wide. I don't mind wide or thin handles tho |
