I prefer a thinner handle. Overall it's great, I had planned on doing some modifications before I purchased it anyways. Only problem I'm really unhappy about is the guard literally looks like the parts are glued together. I'll try to post pics of what I'm talking about tonight

It looks like the separate parts are held together with liquid weld

Oh man. That guard does look weird, like there's four or so different parts glued or welded together rather than being cast as one piece.
Lifelong Zelda enthusiast and that just doesn't look right.

That's really my biggest complaint is the guard isn't one cast piece

It's done sort of epoxy. I've actually been talking with SBG and decided to return the sword because of it. You can see where different parts of the guard are epoxied together...

Sorry it didn't work out for you melcher81. But it's good you were able to return it. The construction of the guard is definitely a little disappointing. It's another thing on the list of stuff I didn't quite like with this sword.

Me too, I didn't expect fableblades quality by any means but still just disappointed. I'm trying to return it, return was approved by Paul three days ago and currently waiting for a return number and address.

Did the return go alright?
I didn't pop on this, it's good, but almost 1k I just don't see it here.
I think abattle ready example could be made for less with cast mild steel fitings and modifying an existing blade with the ricasso swell to get that shape.
Even taking the fitings, which are decent , from the 70 dollar "skyward sword " on Amazon and marrying it up to a custom blade. You could use threaded tang with the fittings and jb weld, it would hold up to most of what I imagine realistically doing with it.

I mean, if you wanna do that I guess

Ah it's gone. Oh well, I would rather buy a cold steel two handed gim anyway, which is next on my list

Well I'm defintitly glad I didn't buy this hunk of Junk, honestly this makes me wanna stay away anything BCI makes in the future. For $1000, I'd be better buying a regular sword from VA
