Tons of clashing and trash talk lately from lots of the forum members and it is just getting crazy. A friend mentioned this to me in a PM and brought out a good point. Can’t we all just take a breath, step back and realize this is a hobby over a weapon that isn’t even useful anymore? That’s the point of a hobby is everyone can like their own things and if there was a single “best sword or brand” then everyone would own it and that would ruin the hobby. No one is right or wrong for liking a certain brand or certain style of sword. It is totally up to the owner and they have the right to post it if they like. Either say something positive about their sword ideals or don’t say anything at all. It gets old seeing others trying to correct someone on a brand or other personal preferences. Just remember it is a hobby and at the end of the day none of this applies to daily life or use outside of the hobby.

HOW DARE YOU SAY BLADED WEAPONS ARE NO LONGER USEFUL ANYMORE! Just kidding , but they can still be very useful defensively in certain situations...just don't do a sabered horseback cavalry charge into the teeth of a column of M-1 tanks & A10 warthogs.

Good advice, but it sure would look awesome! Talk about going out with style.

I don’t mean all bladed weapons, just swords lol. I shouldn’t say not useful as they still work but maybe not practical in this convoluted age of gunpowder lol. I wouldn’t mind a katana for home defense if necessary tho XD

How dare you say SWORDS are no long...kidding again, and I know you can see the ability of a quick strike in the bedroom with the katana you mentioned, as it could incapacitate faster than most firearms at touching range in the doorway. But yes, I have ALOT of firearm related mayhem at my disposal for Mr. not nice and his friends, because you might just want to deal with things at greater distance...and with the pull of a finger.

I can think of several recent events when a sword was used, mostly katanas for self-defence. There was a case I think in the ‘50s when the Brits lost 21 men armed with FNLs to 4 or 5 men armed with shamshirs. I can't think of the Japanese official's name that was assassinated with a katana in recent times. The list goes on. It would be fair to say that the sword no longer holds the place it once did, but to say no longer useful-no.

It’s the British upgrade of the FAL, which has a number of quality upgrades but the main upgrade was getting rid of the near useless full auto setting.
