It's true, scouring for a battle ready master sword is something many have done and the market is filled with silly stainless wall hangers.
You have majestic beauties like fable blades, but sadly those remain outside the budget for many of us.
An affordable, usable master sword would be a game changer. I know I would be in for one!
I've found on ebay/amazon the 1045 skyward sword model. Yep, welded on tang, blade bends, just the general issues you'd expect for a sword going for less than a hundred dollars.
The sword of evils bane deserves better!
I'd love to see a decent mid level example of fantasy blades like glamdring, master sword, etc. Maybe 3-5 hundred? Maybe I'm dreaming at that price point.
But I think it's a good idea. Lots of folks or new sword people would go for an affordable, "real" master sword!

I would totally be in for this too! I have a Master Sword that was made by Rob Miller a number of years back. It's beautiful, but also weights over 8 lb. (if I'm remembering correctly), so not really useable. Would love to see a nice one in that semi-affordable range.

I never seen this thread. I designed Danu, my only problem is I wish I took Paul's advice and made it a bit thinner and more narrow. But it's still my favourite sword that I own, and the only sword I own based on my own art

There's one in my member's collections post: sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/58665/meadmaker-domain. If you scroll down a bit, it's in the third picture I think. I really need to update that topic. There's a number of swords pictured that I don't have anymore. If you want to see some more pics, just let me know. It's no problem to take some. It's based off the Master Sword in A Link to the Past, which you don't see very often.

If it was like 1/4" more narrow to help bring down the pob to 4", but that is nitpicking as I would not want it any slimmer than that, otherwise it would look like a large "sting". Blade thickness is perfect, provides an awesome feel and presence, not a dainty sword. I am a big fuller fan, every sword I have has to have one, however the design of the Danu just draws me in.

Thanks man, I'm very proud to hear that! This sword is one of my biggest prides haha. I kinda wish I designed it a bit more narrow, but even if it was dull, it feels like it would still do massive damage

Creating a well-crafted, mid-level replica of iconic fantasy blades like Glamdring or the Master Sword, priced in the range of 300 to 500 dollars, would certainly be a desirable option for many fans. However, it's worth noting that the price point for such swords can vary based on factors such as materials used, craftsmanship, and licensing fees associated with popular franchises like The Legend of Zelda.

Yeah, honestly anyone who wants a mastersword should just save up money and go custom like I did. These companies are always gonna cut corners no matter the price point, just not worth it

Do smiths get a lawsuit when they make something that resembles Glamdring, what about 1:1 copies or do you have to call it Glamdring to be fined? I am asking, because I know on etsy that disney goes hard after people selling crochet grogu dolls for example.

For private smiths not really, granted most real smiths don't have an official shop, they a page or their own website that hosts what they do, so it's not so easy to find them, and they generally don't much attention. The smith I used is based in Nepal so I doubt he's worried about lawyers lol.

I paid 1,500 however I got allot of bells and whistles. A version with a simpler scabbard could probably go for 1100. If you just get the sword you could probably go as low as $850
