I had it in quotes because I was assuming you weren't actually going for two hamons. Which makes the higher line more of a "I didn't dip the blade in all the way during quench" line than an actual Hamon.

Slav is correct in his assessment, which tells me that you had far too high a temperature before quenching the blade. Which is what I was repeatedly rabbiting on about when you were asking about your scaling troubles. You must still be working at too high a heat. Make a nice awning or shelter for your working area so you have enough shade to properly judge the colour/temperature of your workpiece and therefore not ruin it when HTing. Working in the daylight makes it really hard to judge temperatures correctly. Even with mild steel, where temperature isnt important. With carbon steel, you may as well not bother, as HTing temps are pretty specific for even the most modest of steels.

Oh, and btw, can you post a pic of the warpage/damage you say you have? It may be fixable. I'm determined to have you save this blade!

Looks like the higher "hamon" was created by the surface of the water when you quenched the blade. I agree. That is exactly what I think happend.

I believe that MetalGlo is finer.
