From what I understand, the idea of a limited run for every model was something Howy Waddell was absolutely adamant about.

Howy wanted Albion's swords to be the high class replica 1911 of the sword world. He and Amy did a little sit down presentation about it back in 2008 and I got to sit in on it. I get the concept, just don't really get the execution.

Lots of people want some discontinued models because they didn't have a chance sooner.

many years ago I asked them if they kept up on what when the sword was made by number of manufactured
In other words when I had an Albion Kingmaker made I asked them out of the 100 limited swords what number was this out of the total 100. They could not tell me since they did not keep track of each sword made individually.
So it could have been the 20th or 50th made. They would not know even though I ordered and had it delivered from them.
They only track the total number of swords made apparently

Well maybe not "never" but very unlikely

I asked Mike about whether they'd ever bring back retired models and his answer was an adamant, "Never." That said, they do have another kriegsmesser in the works, and I've also heard that Peter Johnsson is motivated to finish it up.

The kriegsmesser, like fusion power, is only a few years away, and always will be. lol

It does seem that way. It's been waiting on Peter Johnsson for years now. Recent developments have supposedly motivated him to work on it, but we'll see how that goes!

Alientude I hope you're right. I could use another Kriegsmesser in the collection, and it would be cool if they put out another langesmesser as well

Berserkr is already here!
Two days order-to-door, IL to FL.
KoA has really stepped up their shipping times!
Also, if you like single edge swords, I highly recommend getting a Berserkr. It feels more robust and authoritative than, say, their falchion or messer, but it’s still lively and maneuverable. You won’t win any duels with it, but it would be a ferocious brawler in a heavy scrap. If I had to choose only one, this might be my new pick when facing a zombie apocalypse.

Your words sum it up exactly.

From what I understand, the idea of a limited run for every model was something Howy Waddell was absolutely adamant about. Having missed out on a few models from Albion and others, I totally get it. Knowing any particular model could suddenly become unavailable forever, I tend to be more aggressive in getting the ones I really like while the gettin’s good. Especially when it looks like the type that no one will ever sell.

FOMO is a thing manufacturers and sellers are increasingly adressing over the last 10 years in pretty much all portions of small to medium sized markets. It appeals to the "gatherer" section of your brain.

For whatever reason, mine's taking four days to arrive which isn't bad, but not a cool as two!

That said, they do have another kriegsmesser in the works, and I've also heard that Peter Johnsson is motivated to finish it up. While neither the proposed Hauptman or Markgraff models appealed to me directly (I like my swords symmetrical, including complex hilts), I am still holding out hope that a hand-&-a-half Type XIX "Reitschwert" will enter the lineup at some point...

Very glad I did!!!!
