I'm crossing my fingers for a possible shrewsbury review from such a windlass connoisseur! I'd be interested in reviewing one if I ever got around to purchasing one. Right now the Arbedo is on my next to buy list, though if MRL wanted a review on it, I'd be happy to do one. From the look of it, it seems to have a similar construction to the Towton I purchased a few months ago. That sword seemed to be improved upon from its earlier run back when it was in production. Perhaps the Shrewsbury has as well? I know one of the biggest issues with the original was a soft temper but if that has been remedied, I'm sure it will be a pretty good sword and a nice budget option Type XVa.

Nice review. I did notice what appears to be a typo at mark 5:08. You talk about type XVI blades but you list type XIV. Not a big deal. 1060 or 1065 steel? Ya, I got a bit nicky-picky. A good review.

Damn it! Cant be believe I missed that.... Damn phone, I know I changed out both of those when I was editing. It must not have saved when I changed it. Oh well... Thanks for letting me know I'll triple check the next video before posting and make sure the edits save. The sword is 1060 by way lol!

By the way even a few of you aren't really into the review part of the video you'll want to watch the cutting segment, just to see the one-handed cuts!

nddave, I was going to probably grab a shrewsbury next month and I was wondering if you knew/thought/heard that all the fittings are indeed carbon or mild steel and capable of taking some bluing with some gun blue or other darkening product? I was thinking of bluing all of the fittings except the blade of course. I wouldn't confirm all but on average Windlass uses a mild steel for their hilt furniture. Best bet would be to call MRL and ask.

So with three videos in, what do you guys think of the videos or the Re-Reviews series itself?
Don't feel shy or the need to be polite I'd like some constructive feedback or what is good, what could improve or what jusy basically sucks, lol!

I like the fact that you were giving the circumferences. I feel that's an important statistic and rarely given.

I like the fact that you were giving the circumferences. I feel that's an important statistic and rarely given. Thanks for the feed back! I do too especially when it comes to grips as a grip too small or large can really make using it uncomfortable depending on your hand size.
