Most of the better quality mail will most likely be custom-made, and most likely be from Europe. It will also be expensive. Too early in the morning for me to give you much else.

I don’t know where you are located but the international shipping on that stuff will be expensive. I got what I consider good riveted mail from KoA. It was darkened stainless and I think by Lord of Battles. I’ll take the stainless perferrably darkened, hands down over mild steel or whatever.
PS to be authentic it will need to be of carbon steel=rust, grease/oil, maintenance, aka major headache. Not to mention maintenance problems with what you wear under it.

My mail is also from Lord of Battles, and made in India. It's the chemically darkened round-riveted/flat ring, and while maybe not totally 'historically correct', it looks really good, relatively light, and I have yet to see a speck of rust on it. I think I have roughly $400 invested in it, including the shipping from KoA. They also offer mail made from riveted Titanium, but.......$$$$$$. ... Mail armor truly is a -'You get what you pay for.'- type of deal. If you just want to have some, then the India-made riveted stuff is the way to go. If you want the truly authentic stuff, you'd better be prepared to chuck some bucks. Then there's always the welded ring-mesh armor. There's a topic around here somewhere on that.

Thanks everyone.. I think I will go with the KoA stuff. There do not seem to list any stainless steel on their site currently....
