Because I'm never satisfied with my own work, lol here is the new and improved wood grip for the Honshu. I notice the gaps on the pommel where the new grip is decidedly narrower than the aperture. Do you plan on wrapping the wood core in leather, or something similar? Yep, working on the leather wrap right now. If you want to see wood grip version one, go back a page. The first one I didnt like as much as I made it a little too thick and wasn't happy with the leather wrap. This one is much more ergonomic and I'm using a more quality leather. |

You know what I would like to see more often, just wooden grips, maybe stained,lacquered or jazzed up but still just left bare without leather. Ask and you shall receive, here is my Effigy sword grip stained mahogany.  |

Alright grip finshed and hilted. Now just an overnight cord wrap to cure and it'll be ready for cutting tomorrow!   Much happier with this grip. The shape is much better and the deer skin is much better than the black pig skin of the first wrap. |

We finally got ours, after a lot of doubt... and of course, its going back.
As expected:
* blade is bent; not as bad as on our other Honshu tryouts, but noticably the blade isnt lined with the grip. But looks better.
* the tang is rattling LOUDLY in the grip, obviously not glued
* the screws/bolds cant be tightened, theyre loose and are "running through" if you try to tighten them
Sorry. But - at least as it is sold here in Germany - this is crap.
