So the 1 year waiting period is putting me off.
I'm not only thinking cutting and overall quality here but also time period. I'm very interested historically in the crecy-poitiers period. So I also want a longsword of that period.

So I also want a longsword of that period. That period during the Hundred Years War was quite broad in what swords were used. Anything from a XIIa, XIII, XIIIa, XVa, XVIa, XVII and even XVIIIa at the later turn were used throughout the time period your referencing. Lots of manufacturers and swords on the market meet what you're looking for so your best bet would be to pick a price point or maker and start from there.

I'm basically looking for something that looks like the albion crecy. That still can cut, but with more taper for the anti armor work. If I want something that even gets half close to an Albion I assume I need a 600-900 range sword.

Honestly I think you'd be happy with a Valiant Armory sword as they're around the lower end of that $600 price point and have many swords that would fit your point of interest. Plus the complete package of scabbard and belt and color customizations is hard to pass up. Here's two XVIa they offer that I think are right in line with the Albion Crecy and what you like about it, www.valiant-armoury.com/collections/special-edition/products/va-120-special-edition-the-savoy-medieval-long-swordwww.valiant-armoury.com/collections/signature-collection/products/va-122-signature-collection-the-prescot-medieval-sword

Thanks for all the info, The black prince's sword is a bit to tappered.
The crecy still has a bit more hint of it's cutting ancestry.
The valiant armory seems very nice, and does look closer to the crecy. But I've never heard about that company before.

Looked at the Crecy a bit harder. That's 1450.00 USD from a Canadian Seller. Sent him some questions. That about 350.00 over the top in usd. Recouping tax money??? (I'm up to my ass in Gus Trim Crecys and don't need another. Only want to retreive an Earl....

Valiant Armory have been around for years and have a very high reputation around here and in other sword communities. They offer a top of the line product using outsourced blades from a Chinese forge that they bring stateside and assemble. The leather work and scabbards are all done in house. There's plenty of reviews here on Valiant Armory swords to look through. Here's a Link to the alphabetized Review Index so you can have a look, sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/35017/sbg-sword-review-index

Yeah, Valiant Armoury quickly established a solid reputation for quality and value after Sonny Suttles took over. They're one of the more respected mid-price companies, these days. Good design, good materials, good craftsmanship, excellent leatherwork.

www.ebay.com/itm/Albion-Crecy-War-Sword/153510141082?hash=item23bdeadc9a:g:A18AAOSwgY5c8uCoCanadian dollars. HURRY!!! Sent this gentleman an email yesterday, asking for some details on the status of the sword. It is, in fact, in his home, still boxed. The E Bay asking price is in USD. Why 1450.00? Because the last ebay sold Crecy went for 2000.00, so it seemed reasonable and fair to make 500.00 to satisfy the immediate desire of someone wanting the Albion. Can't argue it. It's his sword. Anyway, if you are hard over for a XVIa....

But I just bought another Albion and there are other swords I want more than the Crecy for sale in the classifieds....
